Former county courthouse. Built in 1911 from local stone. The town lost the county seat in 1925 to a nearby town so the courthouse was left to mother nature.

This former ICI plant dominates the Runcorn Marshes. My vantage point is Runcorn Heath looking over some well placed gorse bushes. I say well placed because there is a precipitous drop beyond their thorny stems.
Former Alberstons Discount Supermarket located at 2651 Hilltop Dr. in Redding,CA. The building is now occupied by a Ross Clothing Store.
Swietelsky Rail / former HNRC 37405 and Colas Rail 37116 pass Waterbeach, sandwiched between two Network Rail ZZA snowploughs, ADB965209 and ADB965208. I sometimes don't remember if I've already taken a photo of a place. An example would be this building, which I photographed in 2009.
The building opened in 1892 as the Columbia Theatre hosting stage productions. It became the Riviera Theatre in 1930 when it started showing movies full time. The Riviera closed in 1978.
It looks like this building sat empty from before 2009 until at least this past summer. I didn't walk down Chenango Street when I was in Binghamton a couple of weeks ago.
The sign over the front entrance is for Gear 33, which was a music store that sold records and equipment for DJs. It looks like it closed in 2004.
Former Go-Ahead London WVL 265 is a Volvo B7TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Last with Go North East and now with Go-South Coast (More) and is seen in Wimborne on Route 6.

IC SD70 1009 heads up a CN manifest taking the sharp curve on the former EJ&E Rwy., in the Griffith Interlocking in downtown Griffith, Indiana. This train has departed Kirk Yard in Gary and is headed for parts unknown. The 1009 is an SD70 built in 1995 for Illinois Central in the black "Death Star" livery. Another SD70 still in Death Star black, and two BNSF orange pumpkins trail.
The EJ&E once continued straight off in a northeasterly direction here also, connecting with the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern (later NYC) in Porter, Indiana.

I have loved this old place from the time I first saw it. It was deconsecrated it after Hurricane Katrina and has been for sale for a while. 22,157 square feet! Oh my- it is my DREAM to buy it, have art studios and galleries there with living areas for ALL our friends to visit! Figure if I am into wishing, I might as well wish BIG! It could happen!
I don't guess a "Go Fund Me" thing would help enough? :)

Former Greater Anglia Class 153 Super Sprinters 153314, 153322 and 153309 are seen passing under the Severn Bridge on their journey from Norwich Crown Point to Swansea Landore. These 3 are the first of 2 such movements as all 5 of the Greater Anglia 153's are transferring to Transport for Wales. Despite the dramatic sky its actually still only just gone 1.30 in the afternoon.
The most prominent Stalinist building in Sofia, Bulgaria, is the former Party House (1953), once the seat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
A former UP SD45 (now designated as an SD40M-2) is now owned by the leasing company GATX. The old 20-cylinder prime mover has long since been removed and replaced with a 16-cylinder prime mover, like those in the SD40-2. Still, it is pretty cool catching what appears to be an SD45, based on the car body.

In 1901, Schneider & Cie from Creusot transferred their electrical workshops to Champagne-sur-Seine, a modest village in Seine-et-Marne. It must supply the switches of the Paris metropolitan. Today, architect Paul Friesé’s “Cathedral Factory” still stands in the centre of the city. From 1983, however, the activity of the plant slowed down and the number of employees was reduced until the plant was permanently closed in 1994.
