The Rotonda della Besana (also known as Foppone dell'Ospedale) is a late Baroque complex (18th century) born with cemetery functions. At the center of the complex stands the Church of S. Michele ai Nuovi Sepolcri (1695-1700), a Greek cross cemetery church, unusual in the Milanese context of the time, now deconsecrated and used as an exhibition space
. Since January 2014 it hosts the Children's Museum of Milan (www.muba.it), a permanent center of cultural and artistic projects dedicated to children.
This was a ballroom, probably a private club in the Tuscan countryside. Nothing remains except the large chandelier that dominated the centre of the dance hall.

Qurna is an abandoned village about 100m to the east of the Temple of Seti I. Until the early 19th century the community included at least parts of the Temple of Seti I. Several travellers, including Richard Pococke or Sonnini de Manoncourt even name a Sheikh of Qurna. Edward William Lane relates in 1825 that the village was abandoned and not a single inhabitant lived there. Comments by Isabella Frances Romer suggests that the resettling started in the late 1840s. Hassan Fathy alleges that the inhabitants of Qurna lived in poverty and thus were robbing ancient tombs as means of subsistence. In order to stop the looting the Department of Antiquities expropriated the land on which the Qurnis lived and decided to move them to a new settlement, to be designed and built by Hassan Fathy himself. New Qurna was built in the 1940s and early 1950 to house the then residents who strongly resisted the move.
A former SOO SD60 dressed in the fresh, new CPKC paint scheme is paired with a GMD-built CP SD40-2 as they lead CPKC train YKK12-15, "Run 12", on Main Track 1 of the UP KC Metro Sub at St. Louis Ave, passing the classic Standard Seed Co. building and the assembled masses that gathered here for this train. This is en route from CPKC's Knoche Yard to UP's 18th St. Yard with a transfer.
This is one of the first SD60's to wear the new paint scheme, and it's the first yard/transfer engine assigned to Kansas City to wear it. The overall scheme itself has room for improvement, but it's growing on me and it looks rather nice on an SD60, especially this clean. 11/15/25.

Originally, the station's location was at Bangkok Noi railway station. It opened in 1903 as a terminus for all Southern Line services. The station was the site of the 0 km mark for the Southern Line. During World War II it was bombed by the Allies as it was a Japanese logistical centre. After the war, the station was rebuilt and was named Thon Buri, opening in 1950. Over the years, Thon Buri Station's role as a major terminal faded as most train services moved to terminate at Bangkok railway station, leaving only ordinary and commuter trains to end here.
In 1999, Chuan Leekpai started a project to renovate the Thon Buri Station area, so a temporary railway station (class 4) was built at the present-day location, about 800 metres from the original location. This station was to be called Bangkok Noi Station. The original Thon Buri Station still opened for ticketing, but passengers boarded at the temporary station. Later events were to end this arrangement.
During Thaksin Shinawatra's government, trains continued services to the original Thon Buri Station. Then the land around the original Thon Buri railway station was granted to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. As a result, on 4 October 2003, services to the original Thon Buri Station stopped completely. The station building was given to Mahidol University, and all services were changed to terminate at Bangkok Noi Station. On 1 January 2004, Bangkok Noi railway station was renamed Thon Buri, and the station's class 4 status was upgraded to class 1.
In 2015, the original Thon Buri railway station building houses the Siriraj Phimukhsthan Museum. The former temporary station is now the station in use. Despite fewer trains on the Southern Line terminating here compared to Bangkok, all distances along the Southern Line still refer to this station as kilometre 0.
