Fra 95,- om måneden. Det er et egentlig et godt tilbud. Man kan jo næsten ikke undvære en hoveddør. Mon de snupper den, hvis man ikke får betalt til tiden...

No-one ever forgets their first sight of Oxburgh - a romantic, moated manor house.

Built by the Bedingfeld family in the 15th century, they have lived here ever since. Inside, the family's Catholic history is revealed, complete with a secret priest's hole which you can crawl inside.

See the astonishing needlework by Mary, Queen of Scots, and the private chapel, built with reclaimed materials.

Outside, you can enjoy panoramic views from the gatehouse roof and follow the woodcarving trails in the gardens and woodlands. The late winter drifts of snowdrops are not to be missed.

Saturday 12 April 2014: Forget me nots

After the last few days of waking to sunshine pouring in to the bedroom, the weekend has arrived and we're back to the very familiar dull grey sky - so dull I couldn't even get a decent picture of the forget me nots in situ in the garden. Instead I picked a little spray and photographed them indoors. Such pretty little blue flowers... although I noticed that I seem to have a patch of pink ones too this year - not sure how that happened!

This needlepoint was hanging in the bathroom of the house where I was staying.

Taken with 40-150mm and Raynox dcr250 attached.

Thanks to Sandra9871, who told me these are Myosotis commonly called Forget-me-nots.

So i did some research and found out that the Forget-me-not are traditionally worn by Newfoundlanders on July 1st in remembrance of those Newfoundlanders who died during the First World War. July 1 was chosen because of the high number of casualties suffered by the Royal Newfoundland Regiment on 1 July 1916 during the Battle of the Somme.
