Dare you see a Soul at the "White Heat"?
Then crouch within the door -
Red - is the Fire's common tint -
But when the quickened Ore
Has sated Flame's conditions -
She quivers from the Forge
Without a color, but the Light
Of unannointed Blaze -
Least Village, boasts it's Blacksmith -
Whose Anvil's even ring
Stands symbol for the finer Forge
That soundless tugs - within -
Refining these impatient Ores
With Hammer, and with Blaze
Until the Designated Light
Repudiate the Forge -
Raffinando questi impazienti Metalli
Col Martello, e con la Vampa
Finché la Luce Designata
Ripudia la Fucina -

Nothing but cool weather and rain today to provide the atmosphere for a morning shoot at Valley Forge. You could almost smell the burning wood from the fires in the camp. I love to be there on days like this.
There is a fair amount of grain here so I recommend this view:
#35 Tx! :)
Ruckle Farm (Provincial Park): "This is the farm's oldest outbuilding. Well over 100 years old, it was constructed between 1878 and 1880, and is one of the few forge buildings remaining from that period. Look at the log ends: they were cut and squared with an axe.
Henry Ruckle and his son, Daniel Henry, were both skilled blacksmiths, and many of the farm implements they used were made in this building."
Made a visit to my friend Rob Sigafoos at his Vinewoods Forge. I took my grandson Isaac because he is an artist and I knew he'd dig seeing other creative efforts.
Rob's website is here: www.vinewoodsforge.com
You'll also see Lele Galer in one of the photos and she is also an artist. Lele uses Rob's forge/studio to work on some pieces from time to time.
Her work can be seen here: www.lelegaler.com
No1 hammer at Wortley Forge incorporates a wooden spring beam. It is of the "Belly Helve" type where a cam lobe on the cam drum lifts the hammer, it must also bend the spring beam. On release, gravity and strain energy both contribute to the hammer blow. An enormous, oak drome beam holds the structure together and damps vibration which would shake the hammer apart. Drive is via a breast shot water wheel. It is seen here with a railway axle which was a major product of this forge at one time.

Rogues' Forge
Deep in the King's woods lies an abandoned outpost where the Rogues of the woods have taken up residence. Here at Rogues' Forge, they craft the weapons that allow them to survive while living out of the King's favor.
The scene is the first in a series of builds built on "flexigon" bases allowing for a modular layout by adding additional foliage, trees or features to expand the layout.
This shot stems from my love of science fiction. I have visions of a large-eyed demented robot seeking to dominate its former masters. Help!

My entry to most photoshopped crew shot 2012. A rip off of Monster's teleport shot but he said I could do it so its ok plus its not as good as his (can see it here www.flickr.com/photos/mechanicalmonster/5407120661/in/set...)
30.3.2025.
An historic former forge and ironworks dating from the C17th.
The current layout dates mainly from the 1850's when the forge was used to make shafts and axles for railway wagons.
Those familiar with blacksmith activities will recognize this as a coal forge.
