Clifton Forge station building has been built from scratch and is the home of the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society.

This is a cold forged steel bowl with a heat patina and lacquer finish. the steel is approx. 1/8 inch thick, 2 inches deep and 6 inches across.

February 1979: Robert Sammons, owner of Sammon's Forging in South Gate, works on a piece of metal that will eventually be a tool to scrape vinal floor tiles up. The 38,000-pound hammer Sammons is working with will ht the molten metal with 1,500 pounds of pressure.
