The dull red won't heat much on its own. This is normal Kingsford briquettes. You can get more BTUs out of hardwood charcoal, but you use what you have!

Photographer Frank Aston was hired in 1906 to photograph Cal Poly. It was likely that he was the sole photographer hired by the school administration to generate the majority of the photographs used by Cal Poly in its annual circular or bulletins, and the in the student publication, the Polytechnic Journal. In the 1909 Polytechnic Journal, Aston advertised āPoly photosā for sale, which he sold in his studio at 5 cents each.

Valley Forge National Historic Park 20 miles north of Philadelphia PA. It's huge and well used (biking (bike rentals), hiking, walking trails, trolly tours, picnic) and FREE! And very, very clean. Amazing place to spend a day.
From the site: In 1777 British strategy included a plan to capture Philadelphia, the patriot capital.To accomplish this, the British commander in chief, Sir William Howe, landed nearly 17,000 of His Majestyās finest troops at the head of Chesapeake Bay. To oppose them, General George Washington marched his 12,000-man army from New Jersey. People often picture the Continental Army of 1777 as a ragtag bunch of inexperienced fighters. But Washingtonās men fought with skill and were often on the offensive while campaigning against superior numbers of professional soldiers.

Sterling Forge was a proposed housing development of 107 luxury homes on 571 privately-held acres in the very center of Sterling Forest State Park, in Orange County, New York. I made a series of maps, 3D scenes and animations, and a PowerPoint presentation for environmental consultant Paul Rubin (HydroQuest), who assisted in efforts to stop this environmentally unsound project. The land was purchased by New York State in December 2006 and added to the park.
