All photographs included in this composition were taken by me, including all the samples collected.

It would appear that the victim was hit off their cycle by a passing vehicle. Is there any crucial evidence on the wheel of the bicycle?

Rebecca was on Ottawa's Bank Street with two of her friends, for obvious reasons I was attracted by her bright red hair and unique costume. Rebecca was dressed as the Marvel Comic character Black Widow and was part of the social media event #wewantwidow.
Currently Rebecca works at a local comic book store, however these still waters run deep. Rebecca has a degree in Forensic Science from Ottawa's Carleton University, she had considered becoming a police officer, but has decided against that particular career. She is now looking to become a Forensic Pathologist and is weighing up her options to pursue that goal.
I asked her if she had always dressed up as a kid, she recalls attending her High School Prom, when she dressed as the character Scream, when her classmates all dressed up as Prom Queens, good move Rebecca, dare to be different.
Thank you Rebecca I wish you all the very best wherever your life takes you and never lose that sense of humour.

Blood spatter patterns at the scene of a crime can reveal the type of weapon that was used. For example, a cast-off pattern is left when an instrument like a baseball bat contacts a blood source and then swings back.
Blood spatter analysis can tell you which direction the blood came from and how many separate incidents created the pattern. Analysing a blood pattern involves studying the size and shape of the stain, the shape and size of the blood droplets and the concentration of the droplets within the pattern.

This semester, Middlesex was rocked by a crime. Chemistry and physics teacher, Troy Shapiro, went missing. Ok, Troy did not really go missing, but John Bishop’s forensic science class is acting as if he did. To gain an understanding of forensic science, students pretend an egregious crime has been committed and work to solve the case for the sake of science—and fun.
