Ford Transit mk1 as repairshop service car.
7 studs wide, as minifig scale as possible. Only genuin LEGO parts - no cutting, no gluing, no painting.
1987 Ford Sierra 1.8 L on the back of a Ford Transit recovery truck.
I've seen vehicles in this location prepared for the banger track before so one would assume this Sierra is going the same way.

*There was a Germany only Ford Transit made (1953-65) is referred to as the Ford Transit "first generation" which was unrelated to the British built Transit family but in Germany this mark would be known as the mark two
First built at Ford's Langley plant the Transit has been in continuous production. Transferring to Southampton when production outstripped the capacity of Langley. Also built in Belgium, Turkey and China.
On a wider track than the standard British van of the time the Transit was advertised showing its huge carrying capacity.
The engines used in the UK were the Essex V4 1.7ltr and 2.0ltr petrol units. A 43bhp Perkins diesel was offered as an alternative but being longer than the compact V4 and required a longer bonnet as seen in this example.. The underpowered Perkins engine proved unpopular and was replaced in 1974 by Ford's own York engine. In mainland Europe the petrol options were the 1.7ltr V4 Cologne engine or the 2.0ltr V4 Essex. A 3.0ltr V6 for Police vans and Ambulances while in Australia a six cylinder Ford Falcon engine was used.
