This is amongst the most favourite cars I have owned, bloody fantastic, 6.2L of raw power via 4 x 4 drive, super fun car to drive. With the arrival of the Winnebago and the Boss's new car I just ran out of space, in hind sight I should have made the space and kept the old girl, they have become a collectors item now!

Once we sold the Sunliner I decided to go back to a Caravan, after much research I decided on the Supreme Quest (All one piece fibre glass) Drove down to Melbourne to pick up our Supreme Caravan, the van turned out to be a revelation, simply outstanding towing characteristics and finish, not to mention the 1st class support from Supreme (rare in this industry indeed) The Mitsubishi Pajero VRX Diesel, was not a memorable car this one, very rough engine and poor brakes,in other words a pig of a car to be kind. Land Rover Discovery 3 replaced it within a year.

A few of the vans Hilton CSD has, but Dodge Caravan is no longer, so as you can see, bus 62 is a Ford Explorer. ME LIKE.
This is my Ford Explorer limited 4WD with full leather interior, electric seats and sunroof. Been a good 4WD for me carrying over 2 tons of fire wood over the winter months with no problems.

Once a mainstay of the discount shops, the products of Summer don't appear on the shelves of the U.K. like they used to when you could find them in all manner of multi vehicle sets sold under the Motor Force brand amongst others. Summer Metal Products still exist and continue to make diecasts on the cheapo end of the market with products such as this Maisto copied Ford Explorer. For a low end product its actually pretty accurate looking with a sensible looking livery and crisp styling. I managed to get quite a few of them directly from China. Mint and boxed.

This was our 1st Supreme Quest, and a fine RV was too. That combined with the Land Rover Discovery was in my view one of the finest rigs we have ever had. I was on my way home from north Queensland, this shot was taken near Warwick Qld which at the time was in serious drought. Everything was tinder dry.
Realtoy like so many other Far Eastern toy makers don't believe in change for the sake of change and so usually keep certain models in production for many many years often in the same colour schemes and liveries. This Ford Explorer has been in the range for touching 20 years and even this Police Country Sherrif livery is hardly in its first flush of youth though it took until March 2016 for it to appear has a single in Tesco stores where it was briefly part of their new Emergency 1/64 range. Its a pleasing if somewhat now very dated looking casting which really doesn't suit these wheels though still manages to have detailed lights and an interior. Mint and boxed.

The Pajero was an ok vehicle, biggest problem were the brakes, not good enough when towing a big caravan in the mountains, I ended up changing over to slotted rotors, but in the end got rid of the thing 2002
Apart from the slightly suspect wheels, this is a very good model considering its low purchase cost. Up until very recently these Realtoy Ford Explorer models were just 69 pence from Tesco. The level of detail and quality for that price is amazing. This appears to be based on a British Police force livery. Mint and boxed.
Strangely very few of the licensed Matchbox models have been copied by Chinese toy makers as for some reason they prefer their unlicensed generic castings. The 2012 Ford Explorer has been copied by Tian Hong Toys and uses liberal amounts of plastic though the shape has been captured fairly accurately in a chunky kind of way. Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Attractive NYPD liveried Realtoy Ford Explorer complete with the usual nice detailing such as the FORD grille badge. Marketed by Darin who appear to specialise in customised licensed emergency and airline giftsets using Realtoy castings. Part of a 5 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

With a serious drought of new Realtoy vehicles available at Tesco over the last 12 months in terms of anything different to collect it was a welcome sight seeing a new if small range of Emergency liveried models appear in Tesco stores around March of this year. It coincided with the demise of Matchbox and introduction of Majorette to their pegs and a general titivation of their diecast section. No new castings in this Realtoy range unfortunately but this age old Ford Explorer does get a new Fire Emergency Unit livery. Its still licensed thankfully which means it keeps its Ford badging though I wish they'd use better wheels which look to be a hangover from their Bling days. Mint and boxed.
Great little car the 2.0L Golf Sport, well finished, all panels fit as they should, great performance, the boss loved it

Sweetwater County sheriff's office Sergeant Dan Andrews took a report of an abandoned car near Gill Exit on I-25 .
It looks like the old minivan made a left turn in front of that box truck and didn't quite make it but the driver was ok.
The real vehicle may have ended production back in 2001 but the second generation Ford Explorer is still going strong in the Realtoy range into 2017 and no doubt for many years yet! It started out in civilian clothes but most of its long life has been used in many Emergency liveries such as this Fire Emergency Unit version which began to appear as a single in Tesco stores back in March 2016. Some of Realtoys finer detailing has now disappeared in the name of cost cutting such as black bumper inserts but overall its still the realistic chunky casting its always been. Bought from Tesco back in August 2016. Mint and boxed.
While working at Universal Studios in early 1992 (while I was working on "Back to the Future: The Ride"), I stumbled across these newly-minted (and as-yet-to-be-destroyed-during-filming) vehicles, all used in the original JURASSIC PARK that was shooting on the lot that year.
An earlier Realtoy Ford Explorer model in civilian colours. Virtually everyone I've seen on sale in the U.K. over the last several years have been in Police or Fire liveries. Part of a 3 vehicle set sold under the Chad Valley brand. Mint and boxed.
