Footpath, walkway, pavement pedestrian area - it doesn't matter what you call them; its time we reclaimed them.

Cyclists in the UK have recently had sections added to the highway code to give them more rights on the road, so its about time they started using them.

These two wheeled masked, hooded, unregistered, uninsured, untaxed, antisocial hooligans are giving cyclists in general a bad name.

These guys are more of a menace than a "big hairy biker" in lathers and a crash helmet - at least we should have insurance, a driving licence, pay road tax and the bike has a "number plate".

In terms of the law cyclists are almost invisible. And now - electric scooters!

As you might have noticed I am not a fan of antisocial behaviour in any form.

“One’s options in this world are as vast as the horizon, which is technically a circle and thus infinitely broad. Yet we must choose each step we take with utmost caution, for the footprints we leave behind are as important as the path we will follow. They’re part of the same journey — our story.” ~ Lori R. Lopez

Tomorrow is the beginning of a new journey for me on the job front; still not sure what will happen, but it will likely be something different...a new path, leading to the yet unknown. And tomorrow also happens to mark one week exactly before we leave for the Rockies...couldn't have planned that any better :-) Have a great Thursday; thanks for all your visits & comments!!!!!

The memorial of the abolition of slavery is one of the most important monuments in the world devoted to the slave trade, slavery and its abolition. This book solemnly marks the report of Nantes to its past as France's leading slave port in the 18th century, paying tribute to those who have fought and are still fighting against slavery in the world.

This is my first time on the Brooklyn Bridge. I wanted to do a long exposure to blur out the people but there was way too much of a vibration from the traffic underneath and the people running by me as well as the bikers. There were so many people on this bridge I'm surprised I got a shot with so few in the picture. Still, have to go back to shoot the other pillar closer to the city and hopefully no workmen in the shot. =)

I had a mad half hour on Monday morning when by pure luck, stumbled across two Juvenile Stoats. It was hectic but fun, especially when they did decide to pause for a second or so!. Taken at RSPB Frampton Marsh.

A small flock of a dozen or so spotted at the old harbour over the bridge approx 1000-1500m on right ride of the footpath across the water in bushes, a fair distance away, this was a second visit in the afternoon, tried again the next day to get some closer shots but no luck this time.

Good light on the footpath into Baslow Derbyshire.

Over the last couple of years i've become increasingly fascinated (in a Richard Longish sort of way I suppose) by the marks and trails that we leave as we make our passage through the landscape - footpaths, tyre trails and foot prints - they're all here somewhere :-) Not just because of the physical journey that they represent, but also the imaginative journey, and the wonderful traces and drawings they leave for others to follow. I really enjoyed reading the comments that you all left on my photo yesterday about wanting to walk up that farm track and out of the frame into the unknown.......
