Dont be afraid to take an unfamiliar path, sometimes they are the ones that take you to the best places
Pretty cloudy for most of the evening before the last of the sun managed to break through flooding the landscape with its loverly warm light. This view looking back to Curbar Village.

An illegally dumped armchair sitting on the footpath, beside the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton.
The armchair is covered with council tape and a large sticker informs passersby that the dumping is under investigation. The penalty is a $5K fine, which should deter anyone else from doing the same thing.

A day out in Worcestershire in late April photographing a Little Owl.
The Little Owl stands watch on its favourite footpath sign.
Looking down from the footpath running along the top of the hillside. This area was once part of the Consett Iron & Steel works. Which closed in the 1980's. A lot of work has been carried out in this area and now there is no sign of the huge works that dominated the landscape. A few of the large items used in steel making are now placed around the area as a reminder of what was here.
This footpath, between Bishop Monkton and Burton Leonard, is on the Rowel Walk around Ripon. It passes through a big grass field with a dip in the middle so seeing the cattle can be difficult. There is though a well marked alternative path to avoid the cattle which can be a little "frisky"
A lot of lavender in a suburban garden, spilling out onto the footpath.
In my first year of primary school, the singing teacher taught my class "Lavender blue, dilly dilly, lavender green", which we dutifully sang. That was before I ever knew what a lavender was. And yet here we are, with lavender blue (really a light purple) and lavender green (a soft and slightly grey green).
