I was in Bath today and there was a statue street performer there. He attracted quite a crowd and was very realistic. He even fooled a pigeon that decided to stand on his head. I missed it, but it even had a peck of his hair.

Fooling around on getting shots with reflections.

Ok, it's a crummy self-portrait, but hear me out.

One of my favorite "fools" from literature is Till Eulenspiegel, who I am trying to depict with my funny hat and crazy expression. Till was quite a guy in the Middle Ages. His pranks and jokes would often expose the foolishness and vices in others around him. With his the translation of his last name being "owl mirror," Till represents wisdom and and exposure. He was not a popular guy. Till can be seen today as a the stereotypical fool: floppy hat, bells, and pied outfits. I prefer him with his tradtional hat, though, long with a tassel.

Everybody’s got an empire they want to be king of.

Some want a street, a block, a city, a world.

And they do what it take to get there.

When the night has seen your mind…

Your empire is your mirror.

But what does it show?

You keep pushing for that pile of dirt, a way ahead, to get to the top.

You get caught in the game where there’s winner and losers and no in between.

You can cross the way, cross the line or double cross.

You can ask for an answer but you won’t hear a sound.

You wash your hands, try to get them clean.

Your empire is what you make.
