The mineral Pyrite, FeS2, the most common sulfide mineral earned the nickname "Fool's Gold" due to its resemblance to gold.

Fool school in Cairo. No idea what this actually is other than that they seem to construct sculptures out of scrap metal.

Every so often I decide to fool about and take a couple self portraits. Sadly for all of you, I also upload them.

Fool + Moon = This shot!

This is a combination of two shots;

The full moon plus me acting like a fool, resulting in ......me acting like a fool!

I took a seperate shot of the full moon - adjusted exposure bias, f stop and shutter speed to get the best detail.

Then I took another shot of me and used the image overlay in the D90 to combine the two.

It took several "fool" shots to get the right position -- I'm sure that amused my neighbors!

Yeah, I'm sure I'm far from the first person to take this photo.

Cavort and carry on for waiting eyes, ones you would rather be beside than in front of. She's never been the kind to be hollowed by the stares.

-

Her arms were folded most indignant, not looking like she was soon to leave. I had to squint in order to believe.. And then like a buttler pushing on a bookshelf, i'm unveiling the unexpected. I who was earlier reluctant was suddendly embarrassed and corrected. How could such a creature survive in such a habitat?

And the Secret Door swings behind us..

The new foyer of The Colston Hall. Normally I am all for new buildings, but for me this just represents another photo opportunity for reflected light. Perhaps it will grow on me - but I doubt it. Ugly or what ?

All the boats that don't anchor in the harbor anchor in Fools Harbor or Fools anchorage. It is just outside the harbor, slightly protected but still subject to a lot of swells.

The instruments are starting to come off the line!

Menziesia ferruginea

Deciduous shrub, to 10' tall. Leaves with smooth margins, bluish-green, some-what hairy. Flowers light pink to bronze, urn-shaped. Fruit, dry capsule. Common in forest understory from sea level to subalpine. Also called rusty menziesia, or false azalea.

Great yarmouth, North Denes Beach.
