I had dinner at KRAPOW! in Poblacion, Makati, Philippines, a couple of nights ago.

It's a narrow little street food style diner that serves super cheap Thai food.

I took all the still images and video clips with my 7artisans 12mm ultrawide and 25mm manual focus lenses so I could practice using manual focus lenses to shoot video footage.

After dinner, I walked around Poblacion and Rockwell for a bit taking photos with my 7artisans 25mm f/1.8 and 55mm f/1.4 lens.

Poblacion, Makati, is one of my favorite neighborhoods to photograph, especially at night.

Tosenme Restaurant- Xinjiang cuisine in Salcedo Village, Makati, Philippines by Gem

I tried out Tosenme restaurant on Rufino St. in Salcedo Village, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines, last month.

This place specializes in food from the Xinjiang region of China. They also have an entirely separate menu just for Vietnamese food, although I didn't have time to try any of those.

Jim's Pares & Mami, Malate, Manila, Philippines- Filipino Braised Beef Stew Street Food, 06/11/22 by Gem

My friend took me to Jim's Pares & Mami, a famous street food diner in a car wash lot on Maria Orosa Street, in Malate, Manila, Philippines some days ago.

Another moniker the diner has is "pares usok" (smoky beef stew).

"Pares" is a Filipino braised beef stew dish typically served with rice. This joint also gives you the option of "mami noodles" if you don't feel like having rice. "Mami" is a simple kind of Filipino noodle popular in street food dishes.

Night Photgraphy in Poblacion, Makati, 3 Consecutive Saturday Nights

I went to Poblacion, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines for three Saturdays in a row (March 19, 26, and April 2, 2022) to practice using my 7artisans manual focus lens (the 25mm f/1.8 and the 12mm f/2.8) at night.

Not every photo is a success, many are out of focus. That's why I practice. It's also trickier to use manual focus lenses in dim light.

Marudori - chicken "paitan" ramen joint, Rockwell, Makati, Philippines by Gem

I checked out Marudori, the latest ramen joint opened by the Mendokoro folks in Rockwell, Makati, Philippines on March 18, 2022.

The specialty here is the rich white "paitan" broth made from simmering chicken bones, different from the typical pork bone "tonkotsu" broth in regular ramen.

I took all photos with a mix of my new 7artisans 12mm and 25mm manual focus lenses.

"Taho" is a typical Filipino street food you can find almost anywhere in the Philippines sold by itinerant street vendors.

The Baguio City "taho" vendors have additional flavors atypical of other street vendors outside of this city though - ube (our kind of Filipino purple yam) and strawberry.

Casa Jose is a Filipino restaurant serving Kapampangan Cuisine.

Aside from the food, it's got a lot of vintage knick knacks, creepy dolls, paintings, collectible China, etc. Everything is for sale apparently - even the chandeliers.

After dinner, I had some halo halo from "the original" Razon's next door.
