On a cold winters day you look for comfort food. Today it was in the form of waffles. I don't have a waffle maker so I uesed store bought ones, but they still filled the bill. Korean food is my new favorite. I was on a Japanese kick for a while, then Indian, but Korean food is where it's at.
Little fast food today in a home made mix.
Bread, home made avocado and tuna fish salad with home made mayonnaise, iceberg salad, home made pickles, onion, meat mix on grill, cheese, ketchup.
Doesn't look like much (fast food, fast shot), but I like it.
Tomorrow I will tell you about that salad, a must try.

The adults were pretty fine with me staying so close to the nest. It was like a competition: who would bring more food to the just hatched chicks?

Olio d'oliva, qualche spicchio d'aglio da far soffriggere un pò in padella. Pulire le seppie, avendo cura di tenere da parte la vescichetta del "nero", tagliarle a listelli e aggiungerle al soffritto con un pò di vino bianco. A parte cuocere la pasta e scolarla, un momento prima di scolare la pasta rompere la vescichetta delle seppie nella padella e mescolare il tutto con un pò di prezzemolo, aggiungere la pasta scolata e girare sul fuoco. NB: per una migliore resa consiglio di rompere la vescichetta del nero direttamente in padella schiacciandola con un cucchiaio di legno.

A smallish food bank in St John the Baptist (Anglican Church, Markyate, Hertfordshire). Many of you will be aware of the so-called "cost of living crisis" in the UK. This is Orwellian Newspeak. The truth is that we have a lot of poverty in Britain. My village, Markyate, is in general a prosperous place. I don't think that anybody goes hungry here. But it is also clear that more and more people feel the squeeze, even in this village, and that some are desperate to make ends meet. They may not go hungry, but they might lose their home. I am hearing that a food bank was opened in one of the schools of a neighbouring village and that among its customers are teachers from this school. Britain is in this respect returning to Dickensian times and we do need a new Friedrich Engels writing a new study of "the situation of the working class in England". Fuji X-E2.
