This is one of those "accidental" shots but I thought the colours were lovely .... hope you have a bright and cheery day :)
One of the parents of a Loon chick will gesture like this if you are nearby in a boat. His/her intent is to get your attention and to lure you away from the chick. Unlike most birds, it is near impossible to distinguish between a male and a female adult Loon. They have the same plumage, are similar in size and share all parental duties equally as best as I can tell from years of watching them. We could take a lesson from them methinks. :)

This little guy was starting early to learn how to lead the herd. The little ellies always make me smile with their incredible energy and desire to explore and learn about their new world. They are always up to something or they are sleeping or eating. Love them and doubt that I could ever tire of watching them.

The Wind Waves [Olas de Viento] sculpture was part of the biennale exhibit, 2009 - 2011. As the sculpture's title says, it represents the motion of both wind and waves--and appropriate sculpture for Garry Point Park in Steveston, B.C. being on the mouth of the Fraser River where winds from the ocean make it one of the best places in the Fraser Valley to fly kites. Kids (including grown up ones) loved to climb it, and it provided a fabulous vantage point from the inside to frame photos of the park, sunsets, and boats passing by.
In the background you can make out the cranes of Deltaport's coal terminal in Tsawwassen B.C. & the mountain on one of Washington State's San Juan islands.
I likely took this near sunset given the golden glow on the sculpture.
"Much of the work of Mexican sculptor Yvonne Domenge references nature, architecture and a fascination with geometry. In this intense red circular sculpture, installed as part of the 2009-2011 Vancouver Biennale exhibition, Domenge provides us with an elegant decorative form full of seamless curves and movement. The circular form is rhythmic and undulating, creating the sense of a waving motion within a contained form."

It is now in Houston, TX's Herman Park. (Sadly, the City of Richmond, B.C. felt it couldn't afford to buy it to remain at Garry Point.)
At a local park pond these geese had formed a straight line until a few of them decided to break the line after a refreshing swim to cool off.
Ad un giardino publico queste "geese" in formazione di linea ben precisa si e rotta dopo che alcune decisero di non seguire piu, dopo il bagno per rinfrescarsi dal calore orrendo, che speriamo finisca per sabato e si ritorna a la normalita.

Can't say I blame her - I took way too many photos of the cats when I was with my sister for Christmas. It was fun though.

Sorry to be posting yet another shot from my Muker Meadow walkabout. It was such a glorious morning until my left knee gave up the ghost. Since then I've been hobbling around and I'm left looking back at a multitude of summery Dales shots. So here is yet another of Sunny Swaledale!
Following dreams takes time and dedication, so my camera has been sitting around. I hope to squeeze in some photography soon, but until then here´s one from last summer.

Here is hoping those anthers have enough stamena to catch the stigma in style! Details inside a flower, I think of a rhododendron. One of thousands of spring flowers I saw yesterday in our city's Botanical Gardens. A macro on a Monday :)
