Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US. As the year comes to a close, I am thankful for all of my friends that I have made through photography. This little hobby that I started a few years ago has taken me to places that I never thought that I would see and many places that I didn't even know about before then. Who knew that I would become so familiar with places like Banff, Skye, Tuscany, Cornwall, Dorset and the list goes on. As 2020 approaches, I am looking forward to another great year of adventures. Thank you for joining me.

Watch out!! Can you find the bear in this photo???
I didn't know I captured one until Flickr Autotag told me so :-D
As a follow-up to my post of yesterday. the situation in this photo is very similar to that image. A moose cow was bedded down off to the right of this image and this bull was very close by. Only this time I happened to be at a very close distance. This is full frame - no crop. Now a bull moose is rather large, so filling the frame means a good 25 yards or more away, which is considered a safe distance from an animal such as this. However, it was during rut, which means they can be unpredictable. Luckily there was a small creek between us and I was constantly watching him with my escape route already planned. He was not bothered by my presence (and a few other photographers) and if anything he moved closer to the cow which meant closer to me. I kept wishing he would raise his head, but wild animals seldom comply with our subliminal suggestions. Shortly after this shot he bedded down for the day as well.
