Macro Mondays theme: School Supplies

Off the water and back to the woods to soak up some of the remaining color which is holding fairly well, especially given the strong winds we've had the last few days. I went out specifically to take a bunch of photos to upload into my "new friend," with the single and not unrealistic (I thought) hope of being able to find them...which I did, but not until after numerous wrong guesses as to where I thought they seemingly should be...like "Pictures."

By the way, I appreciate your support and tips re: my new desk top (not a laptop as some seem to have guessed), and it progresses slowly. I really don't use a computer for much other than my photos so I haven't even begun to tap the capabilities of this one...and am uncertain as to whether I will even try or not. What I would like to find is the 90% of my photos which did not appear with the others when I transferred them from the flash drive to the new computer. 10% are in fancy new folders...the rest unpleasantly invisible. Everything sees very hit and miss...mostly miss for now causing me to simply walk away from the computer and find other occupations. My learning curve and patience have both suffered with old age.

Sadly the Sonar icon theme came a bit late, so it's likely not going to make it into 11.2. Shape based on the gnome-icon-theme folder created in cooperation with Lapo Calamandrei. XDG folder emblems based on the moblin theme.

I bought a couple more kits to play with, this one was notebooks & folders with lined paper. Not too hard to put together, but there's a lot of cutting. The two model planes were also part of the kit, but I don't know why LOL. Anyway, I put them together too. The kit is 1:12 scale, but I think it can easily work for 1:6 also.

Love an old folder

Just think of it of a folding folder. Use your creativity, you guys are all creative, right. Otherwise we wouldn't be stacking plastic bricks on top of each other, I'd say.

Shout-out to the whole crew for the pictures and text. And to Enrico for his first design, that I totally had to re-do because he used an annoying as shit propriatary program from a competing Printing Service.

Usually I will record down the first thoughts of the gear I just acquired and about those I am thinking of letting go. The writing part took a while as I wasn't sure if I was keeping the Konica Pearl III. The Super Fujica Six was there to show the comparison in terms of size.

Anyway, first impression of Pearl III was, it's really small. It's about just nice for the 120 film. It's a clean copy that I have acquired from Japan via EBay. Recently, to be frank, I wasn't quite confident with EBay camera purchases from Japan (lens seem fine). I am not sure if it's due to lack of supply of quality vintage cameras or the middlemen are trying to make more, quick profits. So, I was quite skeptical about the purchase.

It turned out the winding of film was different from the Fujica Six. It doesn't stop winding and only stops at the end of the roll. I was shocked. Since the roll had already gone to waste, I decided to play around with it. I found a way (finally, learn how the 2-layered 120 film works) to wind the film to the first frame and remembered the positiong for each frame. Luckily, the "first" developed roll turned out better than expected. So, I went on to try with a 2nd roll with some portrait tests.

At the same time, I decided to contact the seller and informed about this. The kind seller responded with YT videos on how to operate. Finally, the 2nd video does show how it works with the rear window showing the frame number. So far, from the 2 developed rolls, the glass looks good and even shutter speed is working fine. Looks like the 2nd folder will be joining the family.

This is just a test posting of the first of several images Peter Cooper has posted to me following his article on the Dorsetway Line in the last edition of Traction. If the quality stands up I will post the rest. Peter's view is they are better posted on Flickr than in his attic.
