Taken for the assignment on October 22: Crinkled, Wrinkled, Folded or Creased

Folder: Me

Designer: Seth Friedman

Used a 35cm Tant paper.

Took about an hour and a half to fold (Maybe longer).

Folded from his video tutorial.

I really like this design! One of the best origami dog models I've seen so far! :) I do like the process and the precreasing. Though unfortunately, I used a single colored paper so the color changes that are implemented on this model isn't shown. Hopefully I can get my hands on paper with white on one side and color on the other.

Metamorphic rock textures and fabric, including white-pink veinlets, observed in a boulder. Small folds in the gneissic layering are well defined in the right third of the view, and very small folds can be seen elsewhere in this photo. (Scale: the largest (coarsest) white and pink crystals are 1-2 mm size).

For the Macro Mondays Theme: White

I'm not really an origami specialist or artist, so I prefer to call it paper folding, so expectations are less high. In the Netherlands we call this a "muizentrapje", literally translated into English it would be a "mouse ladder". To be honest, I don't know the actual English translation for this. They are made from 2 paper strips folded together, not very creative for an adult, but as children we made the most fantastic creations with this.

Happy Macro Mondays

Thanks for your time, faves and comments, it's much appreciated

My office mate drew my attention to a Praying Mantis perched on a window inside the stairwell.

Grabbed the phone and olloclip bag and when for a look.

Not unlike the leaves in our area, it was also looking a bit faded and brownish not the usual bright green of summer.

Captured with iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens, edited on the iPad. First basic corrections and cropping in Snapseed. Then into Alien Skin's Alt Photo using the Faded Vintage film type.

I was very torn between this and a black and white version. I may get around to posting it sometime in the future.

The complex geology of badlands terrain, Death Valley National Park.

The landscape of Death Valley National Park is extremely varied. The popular imagination first focuses on scenes of sand dunes, the classic signifier of “desert.” But the place is full of canyons, stream beds, surprising instances of water, mountain peaks, and even forests of several types. All of these are special, but scenes like this one may embody one of the the most common elements of this landscape, the exposure of its underlying geology.

The area of this photograph is incredibly complex. It is a maze of small, eroded formations and canyons, all of them interconnected. Underlying this are uplifted layers of material in colors ranging from nearly black to nearly white, interspersed with surprising bits of red, blue, and green. I photographed here early in the morning because the light was softer and richer and because the low angle of the sun entering the scene from the side delineated the eroded features.

My bike backpack folds into a small pouch, just opened it up with bikes printed all over it, folded and got some distorted bike shapes that were kind of cool and interesting. Hard to pick one though!!

The SX-70 is a folding single lens reflex Land Camera first produced by the Polaroid Corporation in 1972. It was the first instant SLR in history, and the first camera to use Polaroid's new integral print film, which developed automatically without the need for intervention from the photographer. This was revolutionary at the time.

The SX-70 has a folding body design, a 4-element 116mm f/8 glass lens, and an automatic exposure system. The camera allows manual focus as close as 26.4cm (10.4"), and has a shutter speed range from 1/175s to more than 10 seconds. A variety of models was offered, though all share the same basic design.

This is an oblique (45 degree) view down of some blocks of rock cut and placed to form steps in a stairway: the shadowed planes are vertical, at right angles to the sunlit flat (horizontal) planes. The rock is high-grade metamorphic gneiss; a three-dimensional view of the folded layering is shown well across the middle of the photo.

Rule 54 :3

So, After Badger unveiled the FMG BAP I noticed that even Catsy deemed a folding one impossible. I agree. But, with a removable grip, then impossible becomes possible.

After about 5 hours of tedious work, on what I'm pretty sure is a molecular scale, here it is. Terrible photography and all.

Also, New decals for my Nam' figures / build, and I ordered all the fier pieces I could today from SimplyBricks :D

I've added all of the BA gang I can, as I would love if they all took a look :p

One of the interesting yet unadvertised sites in Newfoundland is the folded rocks near Port aux Port.

You have to ask locals exactly where they are and how to get to them but it is worth the effort.

This formation is also called the Faults & Folds of West Bay Beach.

"The folds of rock are related to the churning tectonic activity that gave rise to the earth's mantle hundreds of millions of year ago."

For scale I am about 6 feet tall.
