The Tufa Towers emerging to the surface of the Lake in strange rock spires at the point that this place, the Mono Lake shot by night with a long exposition, doesn't seem an alien planet?
This is what a visitor sees when exits from the other side of the upper Antelope Canyon. I've made this photo for the second time after seven years and the result is almost the same; but this time I was more prepared to capture its stunning textures details; then I underexposed a little in order to capture all blue and purple hues that the sensor was able to register, maintaining the strong light coming from the outside. The result is something that I printed on a metal surface like aluminium in a vertical, supersaturated composition.

*** I'm grateful for visit, faves and comments in my photo ***
I've always been intrigued by the texture and look produced by shooting with a long focal length lens in a snow storm. This year with COVID and staying home I've had more time to study my everyday surrounding like this view from my deck of the trees and woods at the back of my property, I look at them everyday and especially when it snows. I've been trying different compositions but none were exactly what I wanted. That being said, I did use one in the icicle shot that I posted. I thought I'd try again and I think I found what I was looking for. A nice composition with pleasing lines and balance. I like it because it sits good with me, the chaos of the smaller branches with their horizontal and diagonal flow support the strong near vertical lines of the trees leaning to the left and then leaning to the right. Then the cold texture of the snow completes the image! Well that's what I was thinking anyway. I hope you enjoy this bit of my winter snow storm.

The 4.5 mm focal length used here is the equivalent of a 25mm moderately wide angle on a 35 mm camera. It gives me focus from foreground to infinity and is my ultimate point and click setting. I think this is a Menil Roe Deer.
Drzewica , HDR , hand held.
This is not a panorama, it is a single HDR image. 1.8mm UWA focal length - equivalent to 17mm focal length for FF.
Wattle blooms taken at the Westgate Park.
Trying out the new gear. This is taken at the 1: 1 cropping/aspect ratio at 100mm. I will need to experiment with the 1.6 crop and different focal lengths.
Many thanks for your visit, comments, invites and faves...it is always appreciated.

Stuttgart's coat of arms shows a black horse on its hind legs on a yellow background. It was first used in its current format in 1938; prior to this various designs and colours had been used, often with two horses. The canting seal pictured here reflects the origin of the name "Stuttgart". The name in Old High German was "stuotgarten", with "stuot" meaning mare, later cognate with the Old English term "stod" (Modern English: "stud", relating to the breeding of horses). The Old High German term "garten" referred to the compound on the site of the original settlement. The logo of the Porsche automobile company features a modified version of Stuttgart's coat of arms at its centre.

It was our usual walk, for which I took my camera and tripod, in the hope that I would find Sasanki. Unfortunately, this year, in the place where they grew, I did not find them - nothing is lost, maybe tomorrow in another place. My wife and I took a slightly different route than usual, behind the castle towards Zychorzyn i Rusinów. There, a small river Brzuśnia flows out of the forest (the right tributary of the Drzewiczka). There is usually a pool in front of the bridge and a small clearing next to it strewn with yellow spring flowers with butterflies bending over them. We went down there, and there were real wonders, in the comfort and warm spring sun. This is the first photo from here. In this case, focusing is the key to taking full advantage of this lens.

Sorry about the clipped wings and high iso but my exif doesn't show that I'm at just under 800mm focal length and I had no time to change my settings as this fly by happened very close to me so I just got the shot rather than trying to be perfect lol. My neighbourhood must be getting pretty bad when hoodlums are doing this kind of thing in broad daylight in front of witnesses.

On digital cameras there is often a Macro Focus mode which switches the auto focus system to attempt to focus on subjects much closer to the lens.
We measure macro ability (of cameras with non-interchangeable lenses) in our reviews as the ability of the lens to get the best possible frame coverage. So a camera which can fill the frame with a subject that is 20mm wide has better macro capabilities than one which can only capture a 40mm wide subject.

Influenced by the cubist photo "The White Fence" 1916 by Paul Strand I attempted to create a similar rendition of my own.
The challenge was to visually balance the positive and negative spaces and reduce perspective to a flat cubist plane. Each element separate yet also adding equal value to the unity of the scene.

While walking through the Nature Center once again, the cougar was taking a nap inside of the shaded box provided within the enclosure. As we approached, the eyes opened, peering back into the ground that had come to see the ghost of the forest. Silent, powerful, invisible, yet on display for us to admire here. It watched us from the shade, hearing the camera clicks, and watching the lenses as we meandered a bit, trying to find the composition we wanted, this is my attempt.

The Chapel on the Rock (officially, Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel) is a tourist landmark in Allenspark, Colorado, USA. The chapel is located on the grounds of the Saint Malo Retreat, Conference, and Spiritual Center of the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver which has been closed since November 2011.
In 1999 Boulder County designated the chapel as a historic site.
Pope Saint John Paul II prayed at the chapel during his visit to Denver for World Youth Day in 1993; he blessed the chapel afterwards. The pope later hiked in the surrounding woods and spent some time at the Saint Malo Retreat Center.
In November 2011 the Chapel on the Rock was spared from a devastating fire that destroyed a majority of the retreat center, forcing it to close its doors.
During the rock slides of September 2013 the Chapel on the Rock survived, though much of the surrounding terrain was destroyed
