Have a nice day
I took this shot on Sunday afternoon and after initially being pleased that the face was in focus spotted the strange shape of the wings. I assume this is caused by the electronic shutter.
I think this is the first in flight and in focus dragonfly shot I have managed! Ah well, I'll have to go back and try again with the old fashioned mechanical shutter.
This large red damselfly was hanging around our pond for most of the day. They are, in fact, quite small. We've seen a lot of them this year

Yesterday I had what I thought to be a bit of a funny idea and for fun I decided to humor myself and have a laugh. I am glad I did! I discovered a cool material to use for diffusion on my CJ diffuser. Endless supply and works far more efficiently than what I was using before. WB is on point! The light is so soft and beautiful I can double up this material and still keep the flash power down for faster recycle times while stacking which means the light gets scattered 2 times for softer light.
It is also stronger. I see a complaint of the stuff that is commonly used that it breaks and tears. This panel once made up is super strong and durable.
This image was made this morning a little after 5am. It is clinging to the leaf of a Jasmine plant.
You will see tubes where fitted but the lens was not set to 1:1
Here is a front view of it. After it started waking up it climbed onto a stick

Neotropical butterfly, native to the rainforests of Mexico and Central and South America. Photographed in the Butterfly Atrium, Hershey Gardens Conservatory, Hershey, Pennsylvania.
This beautiful dragonfly has a bright red top side and a dull light green bottom side. Apparently, these two tone style dragonflies are all lumped under stripped.

During late July, I witnessed a queen butterfly laying eggs on milkweed in the yard. As a butterfly enthusiast, I collected thirty of her eggs to care for inside. I am happy to say that all thirty were successfully raised from egg to butterfly then released in the yard. These two along with several others were hanging out on the plants in the bog near the swamp milkweed. Just want I needed, more distractions :)
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.
Expecting 83 degrees for a high today. It certainly looks and feels more like spring than the end of fall.
First grasshopper in our garden in a very long time. My favorite garden subjects have always been Green Lynx spiders, but I haven't seen any in nearly 5 years. Canon EF 70-200, f/4 L lens with short Fotodiox Pro extension tube.
