The Venus flytraps bloomed for the first time this summer. I've read that they can exhaust themselves putting energy into blooming so I only let some of them flower to get seeds.

That little flytrap I got for free is finally growing. It's got its first big trap. When I got this a little while ago it was teeny tiny. Here's what it looked like and two of those three small leaves died so it got smaller before it got bigger. But it pulled through.

All Flytrap scarves are absolutely machine washable and dry-able with no bleeding or fading. Approximate dimensions 93" x 15" with raw edges. (This means they're un-hemmed, but the edges curl up nicely due to the knitting pattern, so nothing frays in the wash.)

A dioneia (Dionaea muscipula) é uma planta carnívora que pega e digere presa animal (normalmente insetos e aracnídeos). A Dionéia é encontrada em pântanos pobres em nitrogênio no sudeste dos Estados Unidos, principalmente no raio de 160 quilômetros de Wilmington, Carolina do Norte. A coleta de plantas in natura é fortemente restringida por leis estaduais e federais, devido a pequena extensão do seu habitat. O solo pobre em nutrientes é a razão pela qual a planta evoluiu para ter armadilhas tão elaboradas: os insetos fornecem o nitrogênio usado para formar proteínas, papel que o solo onde a planta cresce não cumpre como deveria.

It appears whoever introduced the plants to the site,is actively managing them to prevent any further growth. The population is limited to a few individual plants.
