The light snowfall was wet and messy, but under the lights at the Concert Hall plaza it looked nice enough. We're glad to have January behind us this year as far as weather goes. (Just one of the reasons, Covid-19 being another.) It's been a pretty dreary month. Messy and dreary. We'll see what February has to offer. [DSC02807]

we have loads of bluejays here in the winter ... I throw peanuts out onto the deck and can get 20-35 jays coming in for them ...keeps me amused for the winter:-)

Hornøya 2019. It's spring in Arctic ! I made this picture last week in Hornøya island, 70°North, the most northeastern part of Norway. Hornøya island is the residence to nearly 100,000 seabirds that come there to breed and raise their chicks every year between March and August.
Short Eared Owls are often found in groups. Some took off the moment they noticed me but this one kept a watchful eye.
