Smile on Saturday Weekly Challenge

Theme: "Autumn Joy"

Thank you for your visit, faves and comment!

Happy 😊 on Saturday!

On the top floor, looking down, of the boutique hotel, Ohla, in the centre of Barcelona. A really quirky hotel with a great infinity pool/cocktail bar and Michelin star restaurant called Sauc. Truly a wonderful hotel.

Many thanks to everyone for your visits, comments and faves! Very much appreciated!

The top floor fills with shadows of palm trees and gentle beams that bounce off the flakes of dust rising from abandoned floors and dusted furniture. Grandeur’s of memories of elegance that once was. Highlighted flakes of dust waiting to settle for the night, when the memories come to life and elegance lives again; as the haunted music of crashing waves and flamingo chirps and squawks fill the halls. Outside the peacocks watch guard over the gardens that once were and the flamingos who wonder the isolated grounds.

In the solitude of the Autumn woods, where the trickling of water echoes softly against the blanket of leaves that now litter the forest floor, I take in Fall's beauty with all my senses.

I focus on a single leaf as it shifts and tumbles in the air, making its way to join the many others already fallen, a brief journey here to there.

I am reminded of the brevity of my tiny life, to hang in the breeze of existence for a brief moment more and savor its unpredictable whims.

Ah, such a mosaic we will make, you and I, against the forest floor.

Your taxi to all things wonderful…

The museum is home to world-famous and unique objects, such as the 29,500-year-old Venus of Willendorf, the Steller’s sea cow that became extinct over 200 years ago, and enormous dinosaur skeletons.

South Iceland, the petrified "troll" ship at sunrise, the lens I used is in its death throes, I had it since 2005, it's not a good lens anyway, but it served well until it fell from a bed to a tiled floor in a hotel room in Spain 6 months ago, it's never been the same since, it won't focus if there are any filters, the image stabilizer function is gone, and it won't work with a timer, but fortunately still works with a remote and no filters (sometimes).

below more pictures of this place :-)))

A streamlet flows across a moss covered forest floor at Lagoa dos Patos Park on Terceira, Island, Azores.

I was amazed by the color and beauty on the floor of Bryce Canyon, May, 2025. The bits of contrast that one gets from above are right down here. This is a cool part of the Bryce Canyon dazzle.

Last weekend we walked along a stream in a small nature reserve outside the city. Mid March and nature was still holding back. It was probably still too cold. Most of the forest floor was covered in last year's dry leaves, branches and twigs were bare and the air was cold. As we passed by a spruce forest, a delicate green shone on the forest floor beneath the spruces, a wonderfully soft and fluffy carpet of moss. The afternoon sun only lit small patches of the moss and it seemed somehow enchanted, as if only fairies and dwarves were missing and the picture would be perfect :-).

Why did it take Big Human so long to understand that when they have a snack during movie night, I am entitled to some too and they have to throw them for me to chase them down the living room?

Originally solid York Stone flooring on five floors but ripped up and nicked over the years. Now undoubtedly gracing expensive kitchens across the county.
