A terracotta statue of a mother monkey and her baby among some of the bromeliads and crotons in my garden.
I like warm colours and you will find them everywhere in my house. The Dragon fits perfectly into this environment, sometimes even too perfectly as you almost don't see him. Only the bright blue eyes stand out. :)
Taken through the doorway of one of the rooms at the National Trust property Petworth House.
I originally shot in colour but converted it to b/w as it added more impact to the shaft of light and the contrast between the outside and the darkened room.

Marigold and other flowers in enamel bowls of water. Seen at the entrance to a guesthouse in Seminyak, Bali. They were to perhaps decorate the place or rooms later.
the Liu Men (meaning six doors) hotel in Melaka. It is a row of six old shop-houses that have been joined together and has many elements of local Straits Chinese or Peranakan culture in its design and decor.
Minton tiled floor. Mintons was a major ceramics manufacturing company, originated with Thomas Minton (1765–1836) the founder of "Thomas Minton and Sons", who established his pottery factory in Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England, in 1793, producing earthenware.
I love weekly group themes on Flickr and when I am out and about with my camera, I like to have these in mind just in case.
Thus for today's Saturday Self-Challenge: perspectives/vanishing point here is a photo from my recent visit to the Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble Poverty.
The surviving encaustic floor tiles in the church date from 1390.
n.b. The word 'Hospital' in the name is used in the medieval context of ‘hospitality’ and is not connected with A&E departments....
Weddings can be hosted in the church.
thank you for all visits, faves, and comments
So far I have not uploaded an image twice (color and monochrome), this is my first exception after I was asked how this image would look in black and white. The coloured version is in the first comment box.

This is 'the full view version' of the previous photo: 'Cat in the Cloisters' - of Wells Cathedral. The one where you can see the cat more closely is not the cropped version, I just zoomed in (cat lovers will notice that the cat moved its head). In this version you can see the beautiful vaulted ceilings.
The cloisters were built in the late 13th century and rebuilt two centuries later.
Croft Castle
These wonderful floor tiles are in the Church Of St. Michael and All Saints at Croft Castle. They date mostly from the 15th century, but some are even older. They were moved to the church from the former Croft Castle when it was demolished in the 17th century. Various designs can be seen (although I haven’t been able to get the entire floor in the photo) these include, abstract patterns, Coats of Arms, including those of England and France, along with leading families of the period. Although they are now all mixed up, originally the groups would have formed geometric patterns.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
This was the door that I was finally able to open to reach out and grasp my freedom. Never stay in a place where you feel unhappy. Reach out and claim your freedom & your happiness😊
