When the morning haze clears and the sun pierces through, this is a moment of such perfect beauty. This place is not far from my house at all and few seem to know it. Good thing. I often retreat here when I want to be alone.

What almost looks like a giant octupus is a weathered willow root stump in the banks of the Amper River. High water has washed it up at some time.

Some time ago I uploaded a picture of this piece of driftwood that was washed up by high water at some point. The place is a popular place for excursionists who are looking for peace and relaxation there. Some come to barbecue, although it is not allowed, then they change the position of the beautiful rootstock again and again and I have recently found it lying so. I guess one day it will be gone....

These maple leaves look like an artist's color palette in autumn. The dark spots, however, are caused by what is known as tar spot disease.

Scrub after the winter. I took this photo in March two years ago and scanned it a year ago. It's one of my last scans before my Coolscan just wouldn't do it anymore.

What remains of winter or the remnants of violent squalls in the winter months. This may look harmless and ultimately results in a coherent photo, but the damage caused is far more severe and is just a foretaste of future events that climate change will bring. I read in the newspaper just a few days ago that the climate target will not be met and that the effects of change will come faster and more severely than we would like. It was just a small news item. You almost didn't see it in the newspaper.

Withered poplar leaves on a branch. Violent thunderstorms last summer brought down many trees in the Amper floodplain forests. These leaves hung very photogenically in the floodplain forest.
