After several days with intense rain, the meadows of Ver-Assebroek are flooded: you can see a ditch on the left, then a fence, and then flooded meadows. And it looks like there's more rain to come ...

When the Rhine area is flooded in winter, there are many great opportunities to photograph it. Like here in the nature reserve "Urdenbacher Kämpe" in Düsseldorf.

After two weeks of rain, the drought conditions have been mitigated and the flood plains are full again. Thank you, Lord!

Thanks for all your visits and comments!

There is a lot of flooding in the trossachs area which makes for some interesting photos of trees in the loch. The post is a marker for a camping spot.

High water in the spring on the Concord River

The flood of June 2013 will not be easily forgotten, this boulder field used to be a picnic ground and pleasant forest. the trees in the centre are the only remaining from the original forest

The flooded IJsser river.

The Beach was flooded today lol

It was somewhat worse late the night before. I put in a path last year as in the last year it's got much worse. I know why but can't comment here.

Usually, I have the lawn like a bowling green by May and I wanted some planting done but it's just still too wet. It's far better today as I post this, yet still too wet to mow and more rain in the forecast.

As mentioned in a few of my previous shared images, I did go for a long outing on Stephen's Day as one could not do that for both Christmas Eve or Day. It was coming down in bucketfuls. This is the way down to the 6th Hole Tee box of the Bunclody Golf Course and unfortunately the River Slaney decided to break her banks and encroach onto the course, including submerging the Tee box.

Floods Before Covid

In 2020 excessive rainfall led to the wettest February since records began, in 1766, in England and Wales, homes and businesses were flooded as rivers burst their banks and breached flood defences. We were fortunate where I live but still ducks swam between these trees normally growing on dry land.

Flooded fields in a spring that wasn't. Still, the sun sometimes shone. There was no drought anywhere. Summer can come now.

Goldfield was partially destroyed by a flood in 1913, and a fire in 1923 took out a large part of what was left.

After a few weeks of rain...

Herning, Denmark

The red light here comes from the bowling sign as seen on the previous photo. I wanted to take a photo of the red sign from a different angle, but it was not possible because the area was fenced in. Anyway I turned the camera and took this one. It was complete dark but if I moved a little bit, a sensor would register it and a lamp would turn on and the area would be flooded in white light.

I'm pleased with the result. It has a certain mood. And I'm glad it is in focus.

The scene from the bottom of our garden is amazing, as our house turns into a lakeside property. Fortunately with the railway line between us and the water, we're always pretty safe.

St. John River, also known as Wulasukw, "The Good River"

Typical!! Several times I have been out with my camera expecting a decent sunset only to see nothing, then the one evening I see something worth capturing while out on a walk and all I have is my iPhone!!

On the way between Da Nang and Hue, these rice paddies were flooded by heavy rains that came after the rainy season normally ends. Across the fields you can see a church, probably Catholic, and a school. About 10% of the population is Christian, mostly Catholic, from French colonial days.

Moderate Flooding: actually I would hardly call this flooding at all compared to some years in spring. But the little pond won't be there in a few weeks, and the patch will stay dry until next spring.

It was an overcast day but calm enough to yield good refections.

The new storm was just following an earlier downpour.

Taken on a flight home from work in a Piper Chieftain, reassured by two 350hp flat-six Lycoming engines booming away. I sit in the back seat by a door which once fell open but not with me in the plane :)

I'm not at all sure about this shot, and have rejected it several times. But I keep coming back and finding something appealing. And I've no inspiration for a Sunday morning.

Is it just a little better Here? or LARGER.
