This is my cutie patootie out front in God's garden. I've got another one out back, although I haven't seen it lately. This one though lost it's tail, probably to a bird. God's creation is marvelous ... and he's growing back his tail. Thank You, Jesus.

The Florida scrub jay is found only in Florida scrub habitat, an ecosystem that exists only in central Florida and in limited areas along the Atlantic coast, and is characterized by nutrient-poor soil, occasional drought, and frequent wildfires. The Florida panther is tawny brown on the back and pale gray underneath. It is one of 32 Puma concolor subspecies known by many names – puma, cougar, mountain lion, painter, catamount and panther.
Florida panthers once prowled and flourished in woodlands and swamps throughout the Southeast. When European settlers arrived in the 1600s, the clear-cutting, building and other human activities that destroy, degrade and fragment habitat began, and the fear and misconceptions that led to panther persecution took root. Today, the panther is recognized as Florida’s official state animal but it is one the most endangered mammals on Earth.

An FEC local makes it's way south on the FEC main with a line of rock cars that were earlier spotted at an industry.

This is one of the native plants out front in my newly landscaped Florida friendly garden. It's not been one of my favorites they used, too big for where they planted it ... plain and boring ... UNTIL THIS WEEK! Look at these tiny little beauties. They look like itty bitty Orchids. So, I'm loving these little flowers this stressful morning!
Second time around: Moving this up this morning. Did a search for all my Orchid shots so I could include them in a new album. And saw this shot again ... one of my very favorites. This is a native Horsemint that was included in my first native remodel of God's garden. It's since gone me thinks. Working on the front again, hoping I can find this again. So I can remember ...

As its name implies, the Florida Scrub-Jay is found only in Florida, in areas of low oak scrub. Unfortunately, habitat fragmentation has landed this stunningly beautiful bird on the Federal endangered species list.
Just now catching up on some of my winter pics from Florida.
