Capoeira primarily attacks with kicks, sweeps, takedowns, and head strikes. Some schools teach punches and hand strikes, but they are not as common. A possible explanation for the primary use of feet is the common West African belief that hands are for creation and feet for destruction[citation needed]. Another common explanation is that slaves in Brazil were commonly shackled at the wrists, restricting them from using their hands[citation needed]. Lastly, striking with the hands is often seen as inelegant and disruptive to the flow of the game. Elbow strikes are commonly used in place of hand strikes. "Cabeçadas" or headbutts are as common as they are in many of the fighting arts of the African Diaspora[citation needed]. Knee strikes are sometimes seen. Capoeira also uses acrobatic and athletic movements to maneuver around the opponent. Cartwheels called "aú" (a very common acrobatic movement), handstands (bananeira), headspins (pião de cabeça), hand-spins (pião de mão), handsprings (gato), sitting movements, turns, jumps, flips (mortal), and large dodges are all very common in capoeira though vary greatly depending on the form and rhythm. Fakes and feints are also an extremely important element in capoeira games. The setting of traps or illusory movements are very common. (From Wikipedia)

probably the best show line-up all tour that hardly anyone saw was our show in Johnson City, Tennessee, at Heather's Hideaway - the self-proclaimed "CBGB's of the South"...yeah right. maybe the 40Watt can lay claim to a title like that, but certainly not Heather's Hideaway! anyways, the line-up was Red Pony Clock, Poison Control Center, and this band from San Francisco called Shellshag. Poison Control Center are amazing live. much like Red Pony Clock, their live performances are a whole different animal than their recorded material. live, PCC aren't just a different animal - they're a rollicking MONTSTER of a band, replete with acrobatic stage diving, flips, tumbles, guitar slinging, and of course, Patrick's signature splits. they lunge into disinterested audience members with "fuck you" punk rock aplomb and aren't afraid to playfully dive head first into a mosh pit or drag flailing audience members up onto the stage. their shows usually end with the band literally punching and kicking one another and throwing their instruments into the fray. a bruised and sometimes bloody dogpile of band members usually signals the end of their performance. for the uninitiated and the timid, Poison Control Center are scary. for everyone else, their shows are a madcap joyride without seatbelts. definitely, unequivocably, one of the best live acts in indie pop...
we missed the Poison Control Center performance at the HHBTM Athens Popfest, but we were lucky enough to perform with them twice during our tour - then Joe and Devin caught up with us in Iowa, joining us onstage to provide some back-up vocals. after our initial show together in Tennessee, RPC and PCC decided to split a hotel room...so that's 7 members in Red Pony Clock plus 5 members in Poison Control Center...12 people in one hotel room!
Poison Control Center = damn good people.

I selected this video because it’s something I think would want to implant on my own character, sure it might be a little Complicated to look at first but the way the Spartan Rides a Hunter(Alien) and then doing a double back flip to end the fight has really got me excited. It’s like doing a Piggy-Back-Ride but with a Acrobatic back flip/Summersault then Boom.
