This photo was uploaded on March 5th of this year, yet it continually generates more views than my other photos solely from search engines.
Dear Flickr,
Where do my stats for a given day go when I suddenly get a big fat goose egg on a day that previously saw 400+ hits?
We tell people that taking pictures is half the fun for us. The other half comes from sharing our images and experiences with anyone interested in looking at them. We've uploaded 10,300+ images since March 2007 and have garnered over 2.2 MILLION views. Always nice to check and see how our goal is going.
It should also be noted, that "sharing" is what keeps us from simply becoming a consumer of computer hard drives.

A list of the most commonly used search terms that resulted in other people visiting my photos during the last month. The larger the word, the more frequently it was used. Largely sport-related searches this time around mainly it would seem.
Frequency of search terms were found by using the Flickr Application 'flickrstats', and the layout and colour scheme for the image above was formulated by the website www.wordle.net .
Best viewed large on black (L) for singularly used search terms (the little ones!).
Looks like it was a slow day today. This is a screen of my flickr stats. Every time I've checked them out, I notice that my photo of an Ace of Spades card, is always on top (in terms of how many views it received for that particular day).
A quick look at the stats shows it's all googles doing. People love searching Ace of Spades. According to the hits I've received, they also love googling:
Te Amo (for which my Pablo Neruda photo receives hits for)
And Pablo Neruda - which was recently linked to from some one's Twitter account.
No, I don't have Twitter...I wouldn't be able to handle the amount of "followers" I'd have. That is to say, I would have ZERO followers, and that, quite frankly, would be depressing. Also, people still use ICQ? I got a hit from that as well.
Anyway, yesterday, the Ace photo was finally toppled from it's throne by a couple of Kittens.
Slow day indeed.

(Mon 10 March 2014) Hit 700,000 views today, up 100,000 views from just under two months ago on 11 Jan 2014.
As you can see we have almost hit 2 million views here on Flickr!!
On behalf of everyone at Fueled By Photography I just want to say thank you so much for taking your time out to look at our photos, whether or not you like them! We appreciate all the support we've gotten over the past 3 years, although we only joined flickr 2 and a half years ago (November 27, 2007). It's crazy to think in that short amount of time we reached this many views. So once again, thank you all SO much. We try to post as much as we can for you guys. I know I personally have slowed down a bit lately, due to me getting robbed of all my camera equipment, but hopefully things will work out and I will be back at full force soon!

So what created this January 28 spike in views on thetodd's humble little flickr stream?
This endorsement. Why? This photo.
Now with over 21,000 views, it is currently the 5th thumbnail in a Google image search for "Caroline Kennedy."
And the photo next door . . . a modest 583 views.

If you've got a pro account on Flickr, you can view the stats on your photos and see how/if they were found on the internet or on Flickr. You can see the number of daily views and much more. Its pretty cool.
Just goto "www.flickr.com/photos/YOURFLICKRACCOUNT\stats" to activate. EDITED. YOURFLICKRACCOUNT should be replaced with your flickr account name.
In this example, my Far Side and Monopoly photos were found by someone using Yahoo image search.
Okay so I lie, it's not 10,000, it's 10,005 - I was in the shower when the actual event took place! Thank you everyone for looking at my photos! :D You all rule, and we all need cake to celebrate :D

I can't decide which is worse, the fact that someone is looking for pictures of dead rhinos or that a picture of mine www.flickr.com/photos/erickathegreat/2649216610/in/set-72... would show up in said search.

I'd noticed some time ago that my Flickr Statistics had not been advancing, in fact they actually seemed to be going backwards.
I wrote to Flickr asking for an explanation for the reasons and received a reply stating that Flickr's engineers were looking into it.
A few days later my stats, which had appeared to be stuck in the 23 millions for quite some time, suddenly reset to 26,010,000.
At this time however I've not followed up on why my apparently most popular photos seem to have been stuck on the same numbers since - a long time ago.
Clearly Flickr's stats engine has problems from time to time and perhaps I might be concerned if I was being paid per view but at the end of the day, for me anyway and though I do like to record the progress of my account, stats are not a big deal.
