An epic weekend spend up the north west corner of the Scottish Highlands. Our first night was spent spontaneously at Port a Bhaigh Campsite, near Achiltibuie on the Coigach Peninsula. We set up our tents and went for a few cold pints at Am Fuaran bar just up on the road from the campsite entrance. We then headed back down to the beach for sunset and safe to say it didn't disappoint!
I was lining up the hairy flower scarab, metallic beetle, when the paper wasp slipped into the frame — a perfect, unplanned collision of color and motion. Two visitors sharing the same bloom for a heartbeat, turning a simple macro into a small story about chance and wild Florida mornings. Lucky for me I was shooting the right wildflower!
Watching these catlings sleep was better than watching the movie Cats (2019).
Fun Fact: A group of cats can be referred to as a clowder or glaring.

We have had some nice clear skies in Scotland last few days so decided to do a few trips up north in the car. First up this was a single exposure of the night sky at Drymen. Hope everyone had a good new year.
As we made our way from Achmelvich to Applecross we could see the whole peninsula open up as we headed south. We had splendid views of Skye and Rassay and decided at the next available place to park we would get some photos. We stopped that this beautiful beach with vibrant red sand. Superb views over to Red and black Cuillin, Sgùrr Alasdair, and Glen Sligachan were had. We were shocked this beach had no apparent name, the only thing we could see from the map was a shared name with Applecross Bay.
Ambling along the slick rock ridge of White Pocket at sunset is an exercise in walking amount colors.

Coyote Buttes South really is one of those places that defies the imagination. How could natural forces make something that looks so sculpted and perfect?
Sunrise and Sunset on Half Dome. Light has an amazing quality in the High Sierra. The light pours over the mountains and hangs in the air and glows. Any time of day up at glacier point is a good time.
Just back from an epic week trip to Morocco. During the stay I visited Marrakesh for the day, a photographers dream wandering around the market.

What I didn't notice until I put my photos onto the computer was this young man's pendant he was wearing. These small details and micro stories I always enjoy the most.
Today is #indigenouspeoplesday, marking a day to reflect on and celebrate the people of America, who, quite literally, were here first and are still here, to this day. Every group in America, besides them, are immigrants to this land. Today’s society did not passively inherit this land from indigenous societies; history’s long and bloody and gloomy shadow hangs over this continent. Today’s commemoration really encompasses and encapsulates what the mission of most National Parks aim to accomplish: to preserve history at its most unbiased and to show where we have come from and where we are going. When we reflect on our stewardship of indigenous legacies, our way forward to deeper understanding is clear.
