My home may be different than yours but you probably do the same thing as me. Flickr & Coffee.

I made a wish to be there. My wish came true

بـاك للفلكرر .. وان شاء الله هالمره تكون عوده حمميده :p

Well according to the flickr DNA site, it's been exactly one year since I uploaded my first image to flickr, and 40.000 something views... in that time, my photos have changed a lot (I think) and in some way, perhaps matured some, though there is still a lot to learn... Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone here on flickr, all the comments & encouragement have been really significant for me. Cheers!

Note: This was just playing around with a flash, cardboard snoot and reflector...

thanks Ruby MouradianR for the wonderful texture :D

have a great week everyone!

Evening traffic on the A90 on the north side of the River Forth.

Thank you all for viewing and favoring my images, this is very important, this is the incentive, so that you can make many other images. An excellent year of 2021!

I made the decision to cancel my Flickr subscription. This decision didn't come easy. I feel that my experience at Flickr has consistently deteriorated over the last several years, most notably over the last one year. I don't feel that Flickr is a place any longer that values quality photos and a community that cares. I've taken breaks in the past and returned to Flickr eager to restart and with the hope that things would improve. They haven't. My numbers are consistently down by 2-3 fold over the last several years, and I don't want to pay for that aggravation. I don't think that my photographic skills have deteriorated that much; I think other trends are at play.

Over the years I've lost countless friends, who I guess have come to the same conclusion. It's sad because there are several friends left that I deeply care for and value their company and outstanding photography. I'm sad to say that it's not enough.

I feel like it's the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about: that Flickr has changed.

I was so excited about posting my fall photos from this year - It's both sad and disappointing. So long Flickr. Maybe one day I'll be back.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

From my garden, Ferns to Flickr. They are steadily unfolding and now's the perfect time to get some macro shots.

Have a great week!

Que tengan una hermosa semana!

Since there's nothing worth posting from my recent outings around St. Louis, and this Flickr account ain't paying for itself, here's one more from my last decent trip away from home.

Colorado Pacific Rio Grande's (CXRG) Walsenburg Turn climbs a small rise and into Ft. Garland, CO after completing its westward passage over La Veta Pass and through the adjacent foothills. The train ran a few hours later this day, making for some nice afternoon lighting, free of the clouds that hampered similar efforts a couple days earlier. From this point on, the train has a relatively straight and flat run all the way in to Alamosa, making for a quicker pace than its 10-25 mph transit of the Pass.

Happy Solstice!!
