They spice up our life and our meals. Those tiny grains and crystals on our table can inspire us everyday and also make us think about colors, black and white, a band in the 80’s and your Dad’s hair… Because salt and pepper rock! These are really two opposites that go great together.

Calligraphy, is a beautiful form of art that has been passed on for centuries. It's not just the way letters are drawn, but also the sophistication of the artists creating those wonderful pieces.
Be inspired by our theme of the week and get creative! Take a new photo and share it with us in the Flickr Friday group adding the tags #FlickrFriday and #Calligraphy. We will feature some of our favorites next week.

When the night turns the world into a dark place we can only hope there's a light that comes and let us get through the shadows. #Electricity is all we need to help us to see through the darkness. Not only by its literal meaning but even through life, we need that special spark that will turn on any engine around. Share your most electrifying shot with us in the #FlickrFriday group. We will showcase our favorites in Flickr Blog next week.
As a prize for punctual attendance at Salendine Nook Baptist Sunday School the ten-year-old me was awarded a gift token to spend at the bookshop in Huddersfield. Tom Sawyer the book I chose was presented along with other prize winners at a special service before Christmas 1948.
In the straitened times after WWII in the industrial north of England, it was I suppose a way of ensuring at least one Christmas present would be provided for the working-class community's children who attended the Sunday School.
It has been read many times by me and was an especial solace and treat when, confined to bed at home with a childhood illness, I could snuggle down in bed and join Tom and Huck on their adventures in that wonderful world so different to mine.
I particularly enjoyed the fence painting episode featured here and the headmaster's wig being snatched off by the dangling cat!
Excellent medicine!!
No doubt that traveling is one of the most beautiful human pleasures. But, things turn blurry when you lose the notion of being asleep or awake. Things around seem to pass in slow motion and you find yourself always dreaming about a good sleep in a comfortable bed. Share your #JetLag adventures with us. Show us how do you see the world while traveling.

Nostalgy (Nostalgia)
The Crystal Palace in Picton, Ontario, Canada was built in 1887. Whenever I attend events here, I feel quite nostalgic. I like to imagine people in the fashions of the day attending the Agricultural Fair and other events, just like today. You can click on the link below for more information.)
