Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ...Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, 'Lord, Lord', shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(Matthew 7:16, 20-21)
I got out my crystal ball in order to take a look at the future. I see it there but the ball is not too specific when it comes to details. Have a fun Flickr Friday and thanks to anyone that cares to stop, look, like and comment.
Look to the future
What's past can't survive today
What's next will not stop.
There was a large group of birds high up in this tall tree. It was a busy and noisy place on this lovely morning walk. Many of the birds were robins I think, but it was a good distance above, and some birds were well hidden. When seeing this image on the computer I noticed the cherries better. This is a native Black Cherry tree perhaps? It looks like a bountiful crop and should keep many birds and critters happy, and busy, for awhile.

The fruits of the Black Cherry are a food source for birds and many mammals.
Each cluster holds 6-12 of these dark red berries. They are astringent but edible, and ripen in late August to early September.
The Black Cherry is a native species in North America.
The wood was once very popular in making furniture and has thus become scarce.

Black cherry is an important forest tree for wildlife because of its fruit. It can grow up to 22 metres tall (72 feet) when it grows in southern Ontario.

I took this photo on my way home from an event at Coney Island. I was drawn to the red sign, and I loved how it looked next to the blue sky and that tall building in the back.
