One of the doors in my house, which had a paint stripping treatment to remove 50+ years and umpteen layers of paint from it. Once we saw how lovely and characterful it was underneath, we left it as it was.

FF-- Silhouette: Went to a play at the U. of Delaware, Newark, DE.....And there she was again, after many, many years, and the thrill was the same.....

I attended a local event this weekend. there was music playing over a public address system. The music was interrupted at one point for an announcement " Don't look up, but the sun is surrounded by a beautiful rainbow right now." I didn't look up but I turned my camera up and composed this dreamlike image via the tilt screen.

 

In many religions from all over the world a halo about the head of the deity is used to symbolize a divine radiance. The roman god sol was always depicted with a halo. This practice was continued in christian iconography from about the fourth century on.
