-His image was somewhat damaged in its end, a little withered, dry and darker in color, but I wanted to respect his privacy and show how to make his way to heaven, I think he has it well deserved. ;-)

NOTE: Because of lens flaws, I had to do a little extra work in Denoise and Sharpen with this one. A young buck is just coming into his antlers at the Greenfield commercial park near my home in Botetourt County, Va. I'd thought to take my rarely used D850 for a spin on this particular afternoon, using the 1.4X converter with a 200-500mm lens. I've always thought the results with the extender has been soft, and I still think so. This is odd because the same extender gives me tack-sharp images on my mirrorless body. ©2023 John M. Hudson

LightRoom is so impressive, how it stitches images. But give it a complex scene and unsurprisingly it can struggle for perfection. You have to look fairly hard for the flaws, and many may not see them. Believe it or not, in this shot are hidden fairies, pixies, gnomes, panthers, snakes and killer worms. Everywhere. Padley Gorge is enchanting, magical and mystical, so atmospheric.
If there was such a thing as perfection it would be very bland - don't you think? Its the flaw that's interesting.............

When I was a very young lad my two older sisters were in high school and exposed me to a world that seemed pretty bizarre at the time. I could never understand their fascination with Clearasil and once asked in complete innocence much to their annoyance why they were using putty on their faces.
Hiding imperfections is one thing snow is good for on farm yards. Farmers may vary a lot in how neat they keep their places throughout the year but fresh snows narrows the distinction between the well ordered and messy. A quick trip to this familiar farm outside of our town after a recent snow gave a brilliant display of this.
