Plants go bright red under UV light...
This is specifically 365nm UV.
Quite a dramatic effect since 365nm is nearly completely invisible.

This kid invented a tri-colored flashlight for use by pilots, with each color having a specific use. Instead of the usual "guy holding an object" photo I decided to add a bit of motion by having him do circles with the flashlight while switching between the colors (red, green, white). This was a simple two light setup, with the main light being shot through a small snoot to light only his upper torso, and a rim light with a blue gel to prevent his head from disappearing into the black background. I think the exposure was about 20-seconds with the flash popped manually about a third of the way into the exposure. That delay allowed me to get a more natural look to his hand it made it's way across his body.
The VPX3101 is Black and Decker's power-pack for the VPX line. It takes the 7-volt lithium pack and produces 120V (at 8 watts) and 5V (at 2.5 watts) for your toys. I ripped the guts out of one and built a flashlight into it.
Abandoned Armour meat packing facility in downtown Texarkana, Texas. I have no idea why that ladder is there...the building has wide open, ground-level entrances on all 3 sides I saw, with a perfectly lovely stairwell inside to get to the 2nd floor.
Those strange blurry marks in the center of the frame were somehow left by the slow-moving gangsta-rapper car that cruised through the shot.
Night, full moon, and lots of ambient light from the prison behind me (I was setup in the employee parking lot). Fill lighting for the tree and left side of the building added with a xenon flashlight.
