This collage brings back great snow memories from several years ago.
Photo 1: In 2009 (or '08 perhaps), it had been so long since Oklahoma had seen measurable snow that we actually drove out of town to find a trace of snow for a 1:6 snowman (where Maddy of the Crafty Rat, her daughter and a friend pose).
Photo 2: Then in 2010, we received a ton of snow, so Johnny and then-girlfriend Brandee got to make snow angels and participate in a snowball fight.
Photo 3: Finally, the picture on the right is of two of the houses that used to also be set up with Elizabeth's for the holiday season. The house on the left is the Magical Mansion (love that house!) and the iconic Barbie A-Frame, decked out to look like Snoopy's house during the Lights and Display Contest from the Charlie Brown Christmas TV special :)
Cette photo a été prise il y a exactement 2 ans, jour pour jour. Et pourtant cela me semble si lointain !
On dressait nos tentes là, au plus près de la toute fraîche éruption du 11 septembre 2016 pour ne pas perdre une miette du spectacle.

Another re-work of a 2012 image. Taken at the small and unique Ivo Rowe pool near Coogee beach, Sydney Australia. Given the right swell, this pool always provides some nice reflections and water textures.
Nikon D7000, Sigma 10-20mm.
I look at photos of my garden flowers every day, even when my garden is a winter wonderland, as it is currently.
The year was 2014. The place was Fantasy Faire, Sanctum to be more specific. The song? Stairway to Heaven, of course! (Found this in some old files, thought I would share. I think the hair was new from Wasabi Pills that year, too...)
I started the evening photographing a pear but that was a little too normal so I flicked the camera into bulb mode and turned the lights out.
I swiped the rainbow paper accross the frame lit with a torch then back lit myself with my flash on full power ,gelled deep orange then replaced the lens cap. Moved to tripod number two which was pointing at the black fiber optic lp brush. Changed aperture on the manual Sammy to F2 and exposed for 1 second before rotating the camera 90 degrees and repeating.
Minor levels work in Lr and job done.

Looking like a scene from the 1950s, CNJ F3A No. 56D emerges from the short tunnel under Route 93 in Nesquehoning PA on the Hometown Branch with a compact passenger train. The covered wagon is actually an ex-BAR unit operating on 5 July 1991 with a Panther Valley passenger excursion.
22 years ago WC 7525 was working the local here. It looked great in its one of a kind OLS livery but over a year into CN ownership the future was not bright for the SD45s. They would soldier on for years yet but steadily dwindle and leave the roster until they were all parked. Once retired some went to other railroads, some to scrap and a couple to preservation. 7525 would be one of the lucky ones and end up at IRM after its working days. New Richmond, WI, January 31, 2003.
