me, 3rd grade "book report" on Sacagawea (family legend is that we're related -- on my dad's dad's side -- to Clark of Lewis & Clark fame)
My mom made the costume by dyeing a bed sheet and drawing on it with markers (I think. mom?). The belt is actually from Guatemala? And I love my awkward pose and the dirty white keds.
I studied ballet from the time I was 3 or 4 until I turned 18. Every year in the Spring I competed in what felt like 80 bzillion festivals. This pink tutu was for one of the solo numbers. I think I was 10 or 11 here judging from the ear piercing. Dad always wanted to document the outfits but I know I was always a little grumpy about it which shows on my face here. Hee!

My BF was the girl in the light cardy over dress and long socks. I think her name might have been Shannon.
I have a freaky memory, and I could still tell you who was the bully, who still had 'toileting' accidents, and etc.
Which is pretty good considering we moved town a lot.
I think remembering was my way of holding on to some sense of reality.
If I could remember people, then they really did exist. And hanging onto the memory of old friends make it easier when I was sad and lonely and trying to make new ones ...
Issues, so many issues...
And I was 4yrs old.

Throwing it way back with this unforgettable feline fantasy 🐾✨
Our gorgeous bondage kitty was one of the originals—latex-clad, laced tight, and chained at the collar. Whether she was kneeling sweetly with her paws up, crawling to her bowl, or curled up purring after a long day of play, she made submission look like a lifestyle. 💋
From high-heeled mischief to milk-bowl obedience, she knew how to keep her tail in line and her place on the leash.
Who remembers this purrfect pet?

Once upon a very kinky Halloween…
She lit the candles, slipped into shiny black, and waited to be wrapped up like a sweet, sinful surprise. 🍬✨
This red tape vixen still gives us chills—in all the right ways. Bound in glossy crimson from heels to wrists, gagged and blindfolded beneath candlelight, she was the perfect Halloween centerpiece. ️
Witchy? Yes. Willing? Definitely. Wrapped tighter than a mummy? Always.

#flashbackfriday i don't believe in coincidences. i believe all things happen with purpose; this is my spiritual belief. here is a story. meet herbert m. heilburn, age 91. i met him yesterday (and asked to take his picture) while doing a shoot at lunken air field in #cincinnati. i was with some friends who had asked me to photograph them next to a historic b-17 bomber that was flying in for airport days at the historic art deco terminal. my friend has a cool motorcycle custom painted with pin-up girls and classic artwork of planes that graced aircraft in WW2. herbert asked to see the bike, and he told us his story. herb flew was a b-17 #pilot flew numerous bombing missions over nazi germany. at that time, he was escorted through missions by the all black tuskeegee airmen of the 332nd fighter squadron - they flew p-51 mustangs. 50 years later, he sought out the men who had protected him during his mission with the intent of thanking them. he went to the tuskeegee airmen annual meeting. there he met john h. leahr, who was part of the 332nd. the kicker: not only were they from the same hometown (cincinnati, ohio) but they had attended the same grade school - and appeared standing together in a 3rd grade photograph taken in 1928. john was the only black child in a class of 41 children. herb and john agreed that racial segregation had kept them apart, and they vowed to share their story with the american people in an effort to improve interracial understanding. you can read herb's and john's story in the book they wrote: Black and White Airmen: Their True Story.
