It had to be a tree today and no better place to visit than the wood I was in on New Years eve. During this lockdown if they is one place I’ve been desperate to get back to is this place. Parking was becoming difficult at this wood as logging activity has closed off the convenient lay-bys I park. But after a chat with a nice guy from Forestry England I had arranged a place to leave the car which would leave only mile walk to get in the thick of this wood, all I had to do was text my plans the day before, then lockdown 3 was dropped on us, it broke my heart, these trees would have been great in February’s snow. So at the moment when I will not even drive 4 miles to the coast a 47 mile trip to Northumberland is definitely not on. The galling thing is I know I will be totally alone, but we have enough people breaking and stretching the rules without me helping out. Don’t these oaks look like they are having a dance, I can definitely see flamenco style here.
