A rusty old Ford truck, sits alone on a grass-covered lot in this autumn scene in downtown Reed Point, Montana.

From my days of exploring abandoned places in Detroit. This awesome truck was up on the 3rd floor in the old Packard facility. (I think it was the 3rd).

I think at one time someone tried to fix this one up with a little bay window and other new windows but it just didn't make it!

This is one of those rare moments when I wish I were an aluminum siding salesman. Mint!

The future project turned from auto repair to logging. I would say this truck hasn't moved in a while.

For Our Daily Challenge -- 4/6 "Keep Out"

This house has been a source of fascination for me since I was a little kid. I seem to recall that at some point there was a fire, but they never rebuilt or did anything with the place. It has just sat there, slowly becoming more and more decrepit. There are signs around the property to keep out, but honestly, I think the house says that for itself without any signage. I see they threw in an old truck to go with the place. It sits in the country outside of Washington, IL, but it might as well be way back in time.

Here we see evidence of some of the fires that were set over the years at Henryton State Hospital.

It's always a good idea to watch your step in these places, and to feel your step to see if the floor will hold your weight. But the big patient buildings at Henryton seemed rock solid for the most part, excluding little spots like this one.

So I'm guessing that not one out of 40,000 residents could identify where this is located (looking at you Capt !) ---

Sits 1/2 block from H Street (also known as the famous California Highway One) just awaiting development.

I'm guessing the economic plateau here started sloping down more and more shortly after this Chevy Celebrity's circa 1986 model year. The multiplier effect of home ownership is far truer generally than the trickling of trickle-down economics, but they both appear to have been utter falsehoods here.

Found this in the shed at the house we are refurbishing - think this needs a little refurb too. I have left it outside on a bird table, so far the birds have given it a wide birth.

Thank you for supporting my art!

i was originally attracted to the purple color of this old vic. the photo seemed too harshly shabby, so i went looking for a pixlr filter to soften it. i also 'painted' the white door of the garage by cloning color from the square panel above the entry. HSS!

my brother's fixer-upper boat....emphasis on fixer :)

Many times over the years, I would stand in line to eat at Screen Door and look at this house longingly and dream of living there, but I'm quite sure I'd never wanna have any part in fixing whatever structural problems it's beset with.

I posted a B&W version of this place last month, but kinda liked this HDR version too. Lots of great details if you take a second and view large. Hope everyone has a great weekend (three days for those of us in the U.S. who actually get to take Columbus Day off).
