Il Pesce

Salmon with braised peas and burnt butter sauce

The simple grilled salmon was another popular dish on our table. While it seemed a little underwhelming, everyone agreed that the fish was beautifully cooked, but the burnt butter sauce was a too subtle. I liked the braised peas with the distinctly buttery finish though.

Spezzatino di manzo

Braised beef "spezzatino" with polenta

Scott went for the braised beef to the envy of most of us with the grilled fish. The slow cooked beef was fall-apart tender with a rich tomato sauce.

Delhi is all about negotiating - whether you're buying, selling or trying to get through traffic. This chap prefers a more structured approach to commerce.

Rigatoni con ragù di carne (beef and pork slow simmered in tomato sauce) and Farfalle con ricotta butterfly pasta with ricotta, garlic, parsley, pecorino. The worker's lunch is a fixed price menu with only two choices plus salad.

Probably cheaper to keep the prices fixed than having to redo the whole price list!

The Td 201 works very well with the Polypan F - gives a true 50 iso and the grain is better than with the Beutler.

This restaurant's name is translated as "There is Eel", and the logo has an eel wearing a chef's cap. The sign says the dishes are generous and tasty. The fixed price fish dinner cost 16 euros, while the meat dinner cost 13.50 euros. They had no pizza, which is probably just as well. I don't like pizza with anchovies, and one with eels would probably be worse.

A fixed priced market. My kind of market.
