It is amazing to see how people squeeze their new homes on any property they can acquire along the shoreline. This home is tall, thin and staggered to fit on this small piece of land on Georgian Bay. I thought it was cute how the trees barely try to hide the home from the busy road. They obviously love the colour red!

De straat is genoemd naar koning Willem II, die graag in Tilburg verbleef en er een paleis heeft laten bouwen. Het paleis is nu in gebruik als stadhuis en wordt vooral gebruikt voor de raadsvergaderingen, het sluiten van huwelijken en voor representatieve doeleinden.

The street is named after King Willem II, who liked to stay in Tilburg and had a palace built there. The palace is now used as a town hall and is mainly used for council meetings, marriage ceremonies and for representative purposes.

This photo of the Tham Kra Sae Bridge in Thailand fits perfectly with my planning for the day.
I'll be getting on a train shortly and going on a short photo trip.
However, unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to travel through such a magnificent area to such a fantastic place.
Instead, I stay in cold Germany and travel to Hamburg for two nights, where I have been wanting to take photos again for a long time.
I'm assuming that the route I'll be traveling on will give the impression of being a little more stable than this wooden construction can. However, the construction time of this viaduct was only 17 days and the craftsmen were prisoners of war of the Japanese.
By the way, this train takes around 5 hours for the entire route of around 180 km. I definitely trust Deutsche Bahn to be able to cover the 400 km to Hamburg in this time.
Dieses Foto von der Tham Kra Sae Brücke in Thailand passt hervorragend zu meiner heutigen Tagesplanung.
Ich steige nämlich in Kürze ebenfalls in einen Zug und begebe mich auf einen kurzen Fototrip.
Allerdings habe ich leider nicht die Möglichkeit durch solch eine grandiose Gegend an solchen einen traumhaften Ort zu reisen.
Stattdessen verbleibe ich im kalten Deutschland und fahre für zwei Nächte nach Hamburg, wo ich schon lange wieder einmal fotografieren will.
Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass die Strecke auf der ich unterwegs sein werde einen etwas stabileren Eindruck erweckt als es diese hölzerne Kontruktion vermag. Allerdings war die Bauzeit dieses Viaduktes auch nur 17 Tage und die Handwerker Kriegsgefangene der Japaner.
Dieser Zug braucht übrigens ca. 5 Stunden für die gesamte Strecke von ca. 180 km. Ich traue der Deutschen Bahn auf jeden Fall zu, die 400 km nach Hamburg auch in dieser Zeit bewältigen zu können.

When it's a good fit for you and a dog, I think the important thing to them is more just to be with you than anything else. So it seemed with these two walking back to shore in the shallows after an evening paddle.
We had come here for a sunset shoot - only to find the clouds intensified despite a forecast of some clearing. Another couple there for the same reason commented that the previous two or three nights, it had been spectacular. Sigh! At least it was nice just to be outside on a warm evening.

I was expecting a light loco, which I'd planned to frame between that fine bracket signal and the house. Fortunately it was travelling slowly, having been held over in Crewe Bank loop, so a quick composition adjustment was possible as the wagons appeared in view!

Macro Monday - Squared circle
Looking down on a poppy seed head. At first I wasn't keen on this theme but then had a few ideas. This was my first idea and the one I felt worked the best, I may work on some of the other ideas when I have more time. I rarely do a square crop. I wanted a shallow depth of field to blur out the background but wonder if I should have had more sharpness on the seed head. HMM
Apologies for getting behind with commenting, once again. We've been quite busy. Our grandson has been visiting, with his parents. We've stayed in the garden and been socially distancing...not easy for a two year old to understand. We've also had zoom chats and quizzes with family and friends, vet visits with Bruno so the time seems to be disappearing. I hope to catch up soon.
‘Art of pruning’. Still life, not a genre I’ve any claim to being any good at - arranging bowls of fruit or flowers is not my thing! However, I rather like this patch of concrete by the Caravan Port might well be featuring again in the future. Hope your W/End is going well and you’ve not succumb to the wretched Corona virus!! 366 - I’ve decided to do this to force me to pick up a camera other than when we are away on our travels (they will be posted as normal) - I will be interested to see what transpires, they will be varied I’m sure so we’ll see where inspiration takes me over the course of the year, hopefully at the end of it I will be a better photographer. Feel free to critique as you see fit, but please don’t feel obliged, I anticipate they will not be to all tastes.
