I just got back from Bay front park for some sunset photo's, and there was this old man in his little scooter! I noticed the AAA sticker on the back of his scooter, and I asked him, do they come when you call? LOL, he just laughed, and said, no, I just thought it was funny! Neat old guy! :)
THE FISH STORY
This whopping fish I caught to-day,
I got him on the shore,
And if he doesn't get away
Next mail I'll send you more.

THE FISH STORY
This shows his monster fins, you see,
As big as any sail;
You'll get another card from me,
And then you'll have his tail.

True story:
My Dad is no bigtime fisherman, but he's fished all his life. Pretty much a "Can o' worms and sinkers" kinda guy. Anyway, he cast into the water off the boat and immediately had a fish on. He said, "damn, that was fast!" then reeled in his prize.
The hook and worm are dangling from his left hand, sinker below his right, and pikeminnow(I think) lassoed in the middle. He kissed the lucky/unlucky fish and tossed it back. Amazing.

How big was the fish that got away? This big! (These are our friends who decided to go fishing instead of going on a sunset cruise with the rest of us -- so we decided to search for them. It's a pretty big lake!)
OH! THE BIGGEST FISH
THE OTHER DAY, WHILE WE WERE OUT,
I HOOKED THE LARGEST KIND OF TROUT.
BUT THAT'S NOT HALF -- AND IF YOU WISH
I'LL SEND YOU MORE ABOUT THIS FISH.

Nursery Rhyme Theme
"Six, seven, eight, nine, ten –
Then I let it go again.
Why did I let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
The little finger on the right. "

It's all been a grind lately - even the 365. I think the last 10 days worth of pics I have been so slack / tired (insert appropriate cbf adjective) that they have been all off my mobile phone and I tend to batch load to the group in 5's which I have been pretty good at not doing. The other night I was almost asleep as I remembered - so I took a shot of me almost asleep in bed. I mean wtf?
So last night on Twitter, the lovely @Charp and I were commenting on the fact we both had a distinct lack of momentum for this at the moment. I mean we ARE over 220ish days in people so cut us some slack! In the tweet stream someone referred to a challenge elsewhere, so I thought "What a splendid idea!" and suggested to Charpie that we do a week long themed challenge, where we swich turns choosing themes.
I let him choose first (I cbf LOL) and he came up with Nursery Rhymes. Wow. We both had very long days. My first attempt at something did not go well at all. Before attempting a mass production 21st century style (with faces and crowns and everything drawn on) of humpty dumptys on ones kitchen floor ............float them first and check they are not off. My kitchen may not be usable for a week - I gag just going down that end of the house :(
So, being the fish freak I am............ :D this is what I came up with. @Charp came up with Old King Cole. Holy crap - flash back to child hood or what! thx mate :)
Damn I am tired though. So, Wednesday 12 August theme is.........
Something beginning with the letter........X

Vancouver Wash

We leave here tomorrow morning. This fish weighed 21 pounds.
Most of the year the rare bronze trout lives in or near Bogart park. But every fall they migrate to their spawning grounds above Grotto Falls on Hyalite creek. They can grow to 4 feet long and weigh several hundred pounds.
The most remarkable aspect of these trout is the way they spit a stream of fresh, drinkable water out of the mouth whenever you poke it in the eye.
