This image consists of three images shot a 1 stop exposure offsets and combined using brightness masks. This results in a high dynamic range photo.
Yesterday's shot was with a rented 15mm fisheye lens... Today's shot is with our own 8mm fisheye lens.
We went cheap and bought a Peleng 8mm fisheye lens off eBay. Just over $200 shipped isn't too bad, and I can already tell it's gonna be a fun toy to play with.
For reference, this is HEAVILY cropped, and I was less than a foot away from the hydrant.

Just testing out the Samyang fisheye, hope to use it for skating pictures...going to take some getting used to, you can see my feet at the bottom of this image and not getting the flash pop to appear in the picture is tricky to say the least... and yes, I need to mow my lawn....
Albeit being a very cheap, and completely manual lens the Rokinon 8mm fisheye sometimes creates good results.
