She has a clear hard plastic hood over her entire face and head, with a piece of clear soft plastic covering her upper body. The nurse is looking at the girl. Found these band aids at H&M yesterday! Can't believe they hide them in the kids department! Just look at them!! So incredibly beautiful!!

For those who don't know me, during summer I'm always covered with at least 3 band aids at the same time so I always carry a box with me in my purse in case of emergency :P

Ghost Ship Sneak Peak 2015, Dogpatch Area, San Francisco, CA.

On the visit to the Mooresville Road Dollar General, I came on down to my favorite section, where there is relief, and taking care of your body, the Health and Beauty First Aid section! For the record, I have always been fascinated with the HBA sections in every store, especially the pharmacies, like W**greens, Rite Aid, Eckerd, CVS/pharmacy and Cannon Pharmacy, and others like Food Lion, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Family Dollar and Bi-Lo!

Right now in the photo, we are at First Aid, Patches and Cream! These are like alternative remedies, but some might come with side effects!

Cool-headed and radio-ready, this youthful First Aid operative was one of the unsung heroes quietly watching over the crowds at the 2025 Bridge of Allan Highland Games. Whether it’s a scraped knee from the sprints or a woozy tourist overcome by the caber toss, he’s poised to spring into action — with style.

Background – Bridge of Allan Highland Games:

First held in 1852, the Bridge of Allan Highland Games is one of the oldest and most popular gatherings on the Scottish calendar, typically taking place on the first Sunday of August. Set against the backdrop of the Ochil Hills, the Games attract international athletes and tourists alike. It offers a full roster of traditional events including heavyweight competitions, Highland dancing, solo piping, wrestling and track & field events — alongside a lively mix of stalls, pipe bands, and local flair. The event is known for its welcoming spirit and strong community involvement, with volunteers, first aiders and stewards playing a crucial role in its smooth running year after year.

"STARKT kaffe" (strong coffee) is what this machine can do.

It was not just brag, it was pretty strong.

(For a machine, that is.)

In the vernacular of disaster survival this is the bug-out-bag term for getting out of urban buildings. And having picked up some tips since photographing my car bag, I added a few items to what I already carry—dollar bills for vending machines, ear plugs in an Altoids box (along with toothbrush and toothpaste) and goggles. Regular safety goggles are too big so I came up with the brilliant idea to throw in my swim goggles, partly because they will look perfectly silly (and you could have had your gym bag with you so not out and out weird), but also because they will seal better. The ear plugs were suggested because disasters are very noisy with sirens and blocking out some of the noise will offer respite. (I forgot to lay down my hearing aids which I had in my pocket during photo session.)

Disaster bag enthusiasts tend to veer towards the militaristic or vigilante. There was a comment/suggestion on one site about the psychological advantages of having sunglasses to hide your eyes with the warning that this would also hide your humanity. So what's the advantage I wanted to know, unless to intimidate. (At 5'3" it be better if I had my ninja outfit on too).

Since this is my everyday bag it is really a get there on time, get work done and get paid bag.

A Jungle First-Aid Kit complete with supplies as might be carried into combat. Hover over picture to see notes, if that feature is still available. This was an upgrade on my other kit shown elsewhere in this photostream. The wound tablets are the hardest thing to come by when trying to build a kit like this. They can be quite expensive. Probably the second most rare item is the sealed wooden tube containing either a vile of iodine or Merthiolate. The foot powder in 1/5 ounce packages is a bit rare as well and sometimes seen without the brittle cellophane wrap.

Carlisle bandages, as shown, are plentiful, but finding them in a crisp condition and double-sleeved waxed box is harder.

The other Jungle First Aid kit I have has a similar bottle of Halazone that was sealed with a "blob" of wax. Just as easily, a separate Carlisle bandage could have been attached to the bottom of this pouch in its own pouch, and its original place could have been occupied by a Snake Bite Kit, a practical move in the jungle environment. For a jungle environment, I would expect Atabrine and perhaps Anacin or simple salt tablets in the pill bottles.

Some said I was crazy for picking this cozy little corner of Disneyland for subject matter. But I am actually quite fond of the First Aid station on Main Street. They matched the turn-of-the-century theming perfectly when they built it, and there's hardly ever anyone walking in there to obstruct the view.

The annual raising of "The Summer Tent" is a festive occasion round here and usually calls for a celebration. A little late this year but, good times just the same!

ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer testing the Bioprint FirstAid experiment by German Aerospace Center, DLR. He posted this image to his social channels on 31 January 2022 with the caption:

Could astronauts print plasters from their own skin cells? ️ We're not quite there yet, but I recently supported German Aerospace Center, DLR Bioprint FirstAid experiment on the International Space Station. This "plaster gun" is a bio-3D printer that produces a plaster-like covering for skin wounds from bio-ink. At this stage the ink is made from fluorescent microparticles rather than skin cells, but the goal is to use this technology not only in space, but also to provide personalised wound care for patients on the ground.
