This is what happens when my daughter gets sick: I wash my hands millions of times and the psoriasis patches on my fingers crack and bleed. OW. Here's a shot of me experimenting with two new kinds of liquid bandage, to see if either or both are superior to plain-jane Krazy Glue.

Day 3 - Mystery Event Level 2. The Level 2 Mystery Event of the 2014 USARPAC Warrior Challenge featured was held at the Medical Simulation Training Center. Events included evaluating a casualty, performing first aid to an extremity, performing first aid in an open abdominal wound and a 9-line MEDEVAC request. The event included an outdoor trauma lane as well as an indoor blood trauma lane. Competitors had to perform tactical medical care in an outdoor environment, as well as treating casualties in an indoor environment with combat sound effects, thus creating a stressful environment. Red Cross Babysitter Training is a one or two day course instructing 11-15 year-olds on how to care for infants and children. During Day 1, participants learn the basics of caring for infants and children. This includes holding, feeding, diapering and basic first aid. During Day 2, participants learn how to conduct Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on infants and children. They also learn how to perform back blows and abdominal thrusts should a child in their care start to choke.

Found on eBay many moons ago, and in service again ever since. It proved indispensible during the unfortunate Middle Finger Incident of 2005.

Learning first aid was a lot of fun - especially the gruesome made up wounds which really impressed the girls. The girls learnt how to treat these wounds, bandaging etc under the beautiful shade of a gum tree.

Easily the strangest thing I've ever drug home: a vintage stretcher in an enameled metal box. The stretcher and blanket inside look like they have never been used and are in perfect shape. The stretcher has wooden handles. No marks as to when it was made.

Virginia Wing, Civil Air Patrol, held its annual Ground Search and Rescue Academy, Part 1, at Ft Pickett, VA, over the March 18-20th weekend, led by Col. David Carter, Incident Commander, in partnership with Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM). VDEM instructors held classes for Search Team Members, Search Team Leaders, and Mission Team Members. The Dining Service Team demonstrated their outstanding capabilities by preparing and serving homemade meals for 100 personnel. All personnel will return to Ft Pickett on April 8-10th for Part 2 to complete their training and undergo a written examination and field practical for certification.

On the day, more than 100 British Red Cross volunteers and staff provided first aid cover during the celebrations for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
