Johanna practices holding an infant during the June 21 Babysitter Training course. Johanna shared with the class that she wanted to take the course because she likes to be around kids.

Red Cross Babysitter Training is a one or two day course instructing 11-15 year-olds on how to care for infants and children. During Day 1, participants learn the basics of caring for infants and children. This includes holding, feeding, diapering and basic first aid. During Day 2, participants learn how to conduct Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on infants and children. They also learn how to perform back blows and abdominal thrusts should a child in their care start to choke.

On October 8, 2013, members of the Louisville Area Chapter Board of Directors and young professionals group Crossing Generations attended a skills session to complete re-certification in First Aid, CPR and AED. Prior to the in-person skills session, participants were able to complete the reading and test portion online at their own pace.

Today was day one of my three day First Aid At Work training course.

If you pushed me to absolute honesty, I'd say I've probably had better days.
