When it comes to people, my first impressions are usually right, so I go with my gut, so to speak, but when it comes to nature, sometimes you have to give it some time to show itself. The scene was changing rapidly when I was at Ponce Inlet Wednesday. As you can see, when I first arrived, the sky was cloudy and it was a fiercely windy day. I could see the winds were pushing the clouds out to sea, though, so I stayed for a while, and some blue finally managed to appear in the sky.
My first impression on reaching this location was just how tranquil the location was, usually the water here is never quite so calm. This part of the West Coast of Scotland is usually a great location for a sunset and a great place to relax after a hard day at work, my first impressions here was, aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh this is ideal.

Not a misspelling, honest! A first impression moment, whether that's for a view of the sea or learning to use or share a telescope who knows?
We all did this as kids. What's mine is mine and what's yours is also mine. Great view of Stathies Harbour in Yorkshire from this vantage point - if they can agree who's turn it is to use the telescope of course!
The shot was not quiet tack sharp for me so, since the woman just met the man along the sidewalk, I thought of doing this with a Impressionist flair, then I thought First Impression, notice the walk sign is mirrored to go along with that theme First Impression the meeting handshake.
For the first impression if you are not yourself and try to potray someone else, you shall have to carry the burden of being someone else for life or you shall loose the one whom you tried to impress...the one who accepts you as you truly are is the genuine one for you....
Following the highway sign… Kobe, Osaka Umeda, and Wakayama are on the horizon. The journey from Kansai International Airport to the heart of Osaka has officially begun, even under the gloomy arrival sky.
I've decided to start my journey back into Williamsburg via the footpath of the Williamsburg Bridge starting from the Lower East Side of Manhattan where my families history in the United States began. I don't know what motivated their move into Brooklyn, but I do know that on a cold day in 1946 I appeared in Brooklyn Women's Hospital a full-fledged citizen of the United States of America!
As a photographer the graffeti covered sign at the entrance to the bridge thrilled me, but my frist thought... "what are they trying to cover up, their affiliation with one of the greatest cities in the world?"'... brought a resounding mental yes! Brooklyn has always been a world apart from The City and just how different a world I would discover just 2.2 miles down the road.

Bought a new lens and, at the time of this post, I have had no time at all to test it, apart from this shot. Still, as I have made this shot previous with other lenses there are three things that immediately catch my eye:
1. Smoother transitions between light and dark.
2. Way better contrast.
3. More saturated and more true to life colours.
Quite amazing what glass can do :-)
Oh, and shooting at f2.8 at 150mm is quite nice too!

We never get a second chance to make a first impression. What a sobering thought!!!! Be genuine at all times, and your natural beauty will come shining through without any prompting whatsoever. There is nothing more beautiful than the "natural you"!
NOTE: Thanks so much for your visits, comments, and invites. Your friendship is a wonderful part of my life and puts a daily smile on my heart! Thank you for just being you!
Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo, Japan
If you Google "Shibuya crossing" and click on images you will most certainly recognise only two viewpoints - the obvious is at street level and the other from an elevated point which I know of only two. One is from an hotel and restaurant which has now cottoned on and blocked access to photographers, especially those with tripods and the other is from Starbucks with a 1st floor gallery right opposite the crossing. Unfortunately, everybody else knows of this viewpoint and so the queue to get a front row seat is considerable. I've never seen so many people make a Frappuccino last so long but that's probably just the excitement in me to get my shot!
But patience is a virtue, or so I'm told and eventually we muscled our way to the front row. This was to be the scene of my first upload... a tripod shot, 2 to 3 seconds exposure with Mrs R stood in the middle of the crossing waving at me with the masses all blurred around her but the best laid plans of mice and men fell at the first hurdle.
Firstly - you can't set up a tripod in Starbucks but I was wise to this fact and so bought a gorilla pod specially for the job.
Secondly - the front row consists of high level tables between the pillars which is constantly on the bounce with people leaning and pushing against them so no stable platform for the pod.
Thirdly - the distance from said tables to the windows makes reflections impossible to avoid so shot one well and truly knackered!
The only thing to do is watch all the fun below whilst drinking your Matcha green tea latte (it's the future, try it sometime)... albeit slowly before getting out there and joining the masses.
I wanted to capture the chaos of the scene and couldn't think of a better way of conveying the randomness of the masses other than setting my camera to slow shutter speed, holding it above my head and crossing with everybody else when the lights go green. A bit random I agree, but I like the effect and it fits nicely with the accompanying track suggested by Mrs R.
Knock three times...take a deep breath...now smile.

Love these chairs on my way home, outside what is the best fish and chip shop in Hipster Central, Norwich. A perfect first impression and an inviting way to welcome you to have your tea outside.
