These boats are among the first arrivals to the marina in the island of LÃ¥ngholmen, after being dry docked all winter. This chanel of water is called "The pole sound" (PÃ¥lsundet in Swedish) after all the poles, I assume.

American Peony Society: FIRST ARRIVAL (Roger F. Anderson), Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, 1986. Semi-double Itoh hybrid, lavender pink. Seedling #A80-01. First bloomed 1984. Parentage: Martha W. x Reath hybrid tree. Lavender pink blooms when first open; as the flower gets older, it fades to a lighter pink. No pollen or seeds. The 24" stems hold the 4-5" flowers on the top of the plant which has dark green foliage, blooming at mid-season. Bulletin #259.

 

Breeder Roger Anderson, Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, 1986. Deeply cut dark green foliage. Intersectional hybrid of Martha W. x Reath hybrid tree peony. One of the first Itoh Intersectionals from Anderson.

This morning the Airbus A380 landed for the first time on Zürich Airport (on runway 16).

Unfortunately the weather and light conditions wheren't the best, but it was anyway impressive to see this bird live for the first time. :-)
